But a solo isn't just about what notes are played. The entire song is building to that climax. How it stands out compared to the rest of the song matters far more than what notes and how fast they are played. Technical Death metal is all about showing off how many notes can be played as fast as possible. Invincible is quite the cleverly arranged song,

Generally you aren't going to find a riff with that much consonance either, certainly not in death metal.

I'm not familiar with much death - tech besides Nile and Opeth, but generally nothing going for a 'metal' sound is going to stick to a slow major-scale chord progression during a solo, they are going to be all over the place, either chromatic or full of accidentals.
Saying that tech-death isn't "cleverly arranged" and then admitting that you've only heard two tech-death bands, in which Opeth isn't even death metal much less tech-death, is incredibly ignorant. Ugh!

Oh and "building to a climax" is a pretty generic technique (especially if the climax is mediocre), and tons of bands do it better. If I want crescendos I think I'll stick to post-rock. Not that I even agree with your reasoning about the solo, just commenting on your logic.

I have every right to discuss Muse, so please don't tell me what to do or how I feel. I am so offended!

    Muse Super Pack 01:
    -Muscle Museum
    -Dead Star
    -The Small Print
    -Thoughts of a Dying Atheist
    -Citizen Erased
    -Micro Cuts
    -Map of the Problematique
    -Sunburn (Hullabaloo Live Version)

List based on songs that would be the most rewarding to play, as opposed to my favorite songs. As much as I love the following songs, I don't want to play the quick triplets in New Born, I don't want to play the strumfest that is Stockhom Syndrome, I don't want to play the slow Time is Running Out (besides, already a song in RB named exactly that!), and I don't want to play the boring chorus to Plug in Baby. I certainly wouldn't object to any Muse as DLC, however!

    Explanations:

-Muscle Museum for pure awesome on Bass, tricky guitar line, and an AMAZING vocal "solo" (Bellamy screaming/wailing with some sort of talkbox/megaphone effect).
-Dead Star for its sheer power, and fun guitar solo (with all those weird noises to throw off a normal hopo sequence).
-The Small Print for it's solid full-band status, and a short guitar solo that could be charted viciously.
-Thoughts of a Dying Atheist is another solid full band song with an easier guitar solo.
-Citizen Erased is an epic journey. I'm debating whether I'd want HMX to cut the ending off. I say no, leave it on, a cooldown period is nice.
-Micro Cuts would be fantastic on vocals. There's nothing like it. Intricate guitar line too.
-Map of the Problematique has a sick drum part. Guitar is great too!
-Sunburn, as played on the Hullabaloo DVD is amazing. Awesome guitar, awesome bass during the chorus, and intricate drums. Studio version has a bit too much Piano and not enough Guitar to be viable in RB.

Or just release HAARP as a standalone exportable game, a la AC/DC. Throw in a Manson guitar replica for good measure (with working Kaoss Pad!). I could also see some of the more Piano-y Muse as DLC for the Beatles game (if it has a keyboard instrument!)

^If thats the case check out the 2004 Glastonbury version of Muscle Museum, it's much better than the studio version and has better guitar. Also Butterflies and Hurricanes would be a great pick if you go with the single version due to the more intense guitar (and a small solo as well), or a live version (either the 2004 Glastonbury or HAARP version) would suffice.

You do have every right to discuss Muse but you're not really discussing Muse. You're just trying to rile everyone up. Every time someone gives you a well thought out and eloquent response about something, you just jump straight up their ass about it and tell them how ignorant they are. And you say we're pretentious!?

Give it a rest, man. The rest of us are here to talk about combining a band that we love with a game that we love. You are here to tell us how wrong we are and there is certainly no place for that here.
