Okay, maybe it was a little tacky. But the decision itself wasn't too not-tacky either.

And it is certainly constructive. If anything, I'm saying "I'm not satisfied". As a customer, that should be of, at least, a LITTLE importance to him.

And I only pointed out mistakes that were non-subjectively incorrect. Like moments where they charted two vocal parts on the same note when there was a third harmony (what's the point of only charting two melodies if you have 3 vocal parts) and where different notes on 5-lane instruments were represented as repeated bricks. Or notes on Pro Keys that were just flat-out wrong. Those things are undeniably wrong.

And it's not like I was saying "Oh, wow, you suck", I was pointing out overlooked mistakes. Mistakes that, in my opinion, shouldn't have been overlooked. (considering I noticed them on my first view of the video)

While I can understand a defensive response to that sort of criticism, as a business working in a world of competition, I think making mistakes and ignoring criticism is a really good way to LOSE business.

You seem to have forgotten that these songs have been meticulously looked over by many people who know a hell of a lot more about charting than you do. They didn't find these so called "non-subjectively incorrect" errors. I'm far more inclined to believe someone who has charted and reviewed many songs on RBN than some random internet jerkoff. You know what? If you want to "improve" these charts you should pony up the money for an XNA subscription and start playtesting and reviewing. Otherwise you're just another whiny *****.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. Just be glad you get to preview it. I for one will, and so will many others.

Ozone, thanks for the great job you did. Keep up the great releases!

While I believe people meticulously look over it, that doesn't mean they can't make mistakes. I've read the rules of authoring on the creators' site things like

    1) Not charting a vocal part when you have an extra vocal part to use (unless that extra vocal part is in an instrument's stem)
    2) Charting a note the same as the note before it when they are not the same pitch (for example, a semitone interval being charted as Yellow Yellow rather than Yellow Blue)
    3) Charting a chord on the keys as one note (especially when there is only one keyboard part, so it is obviously on the same stem)

    Are effectively objectively incorrect.

Whether they are deal-breaking or not is subjective, but they don't follow the rules of charting as outlined on the creators' site. That is objective.

And I'd like to reiterate that I am not trying to be offensive or accusing, as Ozone has already heard what I have to say (in a much more civil manner), I am defending myself and explaining my reasoning (specifically to JTHomeslice).

And, of course, I appreciate Ozone's contribution to the RBN. If I was going on a "if you don't like it, don't buy it" standpoint, I wouldn't bother to try to bring these things up in an attempt to produce better products in the future. Because I know that Rock Band is certainly not a place where customers are always wrong (though it seems to be sometimes)

Not getting involved in the debate here, but I really hate this argument. There are two things to like/dislike about an RBN song - the music and the authoring. If you dislike the music then no matter what the authoring is like your statement makes sense, don't like so don't buy it, and if you like the music and like the authoring then even better, you get the song. However, the worst-case scenario is liking the music but not the authoring, which means that song on the RBN is effectively ruined for you as it's very unlikely to be fixed or redone in any way if it's not a critical issue and it's difficult to enjoy playing a song when you know there are problems with the chart.

Again, I'm not getting involved in this specific matter. I've just seen this kind of line almost word-for-word before and it irritates me.

Here are a look at the final charts:

    Pac-Man Fever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viIK7ummpM0
    Froggy's Lament: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3_hRPFUvpM
    Hyperspace: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiJ5zhFVCM4
    Mousetrap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olWuYIWsFVM
Eh. It would've been nice to shorten at least Hyperspace. Seems like it'd get pretty repetitive.

Looks like I'll only be picking up Pac-Man Fever and Mousetrap. Everything else sort of drags on. Can't wait for pretty much every other song though.
8/9/11 (Def Leppard) will be marked as the best day in RB history for me. HMX, major thanks for all this amazing DLC you put out!

Yes, this. Since playtesting is not fool-proof, it's really in the hands of the authors to get anything that isn't obviously wrong.

Okay, ignoring all the stupidity in the posts above - it's Pac-Man Fever Day! Share your videos, pictures, and experiences with the 4 songs! Hopefully everyone has a good time and enjoys them.

    Seriously? "Stupidity"?

    1) Business distributes inferior products
    2) Customer complains (as in any business)
    3) Business ignores
    4) Customer explains complaints
    5) Business calls customer "stupid"

Well... I guess we'll see how far this attitude goes. Keep in mind that the customers are the only thing keeping your business afloat, and as a business owner myself, I find it a pretty immature move to ignore what the customers want.

Doesn't mean you went about anything you said in an easy to work with, professional, or intelligent manner. Despite what you hear, the customer is not always right.
