    That was... interesting and awesome.
Nic Cage is not just "people"... he's a very special case.

    Very special.

"28 Days" is finally officially out! It's the official first RBN song with harmonies, as tweeted by the official RBN twitter account. It's so official it should have tiny leaves around it. The fact that it came out on the 28th is totally happy coincidence.

    Suddenly, some mid-week pop-punk.

The Story Changes - "New Ground"

Pretty simple but enjoyable and really sing-along.

Just a little bit of newsy stuff. I've finally added our latest announced track, Clubbed Baby VVVVVVeal. I am 99% sure it's the first cover of a copyrighted song in RBN (it's Danny Baranowsky's remix of SoulEye's "Pushing Onwards", but being a remix the term 'cover' is used a bit loosely). I know there's been public domain and folk covers but I'm still pretty sure this is unique.

Second: Blue News is in the running to play Bonnaroo! So we'd appreciate if you go vote for them to get a slot. They are coming back to RBN; we've listened to a rough cut of their new EP and we should be announcing their new tracks soon.

And now for something completely different.

I've always hated when crappy bands get popular while decent bands struggle to get by. I'm sure that's a fairly common sentiment. Fairwood, as a whole, is part of my attempt to resolve that in whatever little way I can. And I do mean little.

But I thought I'd be a little more direct. Our bands have a real mix of availability. For some, their albums just aren't anywhere. Others are on Amazon, or Bandcamp, or iTunes, or maybe you have to go to their site directly to even buy their album. Few of them are very widely distributed, even online. Even the slightest trouble could be a lost sale, so I thought I'd try to knock down some barriers.

The Fairwood Studios site now has an online "store". I say "store" because it doesn't sell anything directly; it's just a collection of every link we can find for every album we've worked with. If there's somewhere you can buy the album, or in some cases download it for free, there's a link there.

So if you like any of the bands we've worked with enough to want their full album, hopefully this makes it just a little easier to get what you want and get the band the money they deserve.

Great idea. You should also add links to the international amazon sites though, since mp3 downloads are not sold internationally on amazon.

I looked up a couple of your artists on the 3 main european amazon sites:

Agreed, though I need to figure out how best to programmatically decide what country's links to display. Like you're saying, it makes no sense to show links for different countries, US just made sense as a starting point.

So with today's update, we're halfway through Mafia Track Suit's album.

    Available Now:

Mafia Track Suit - Forest for the Trees (80 MSP) [Preview Video]

I don't know if we've said much about these songs, but I know they're not on our site.... If you're a fan of Bright Midnight, Stagehands, or Those Among Us, they've all got RBN2.0 songs in the works right now. Bright Midnight gets a little synthy with "White Shoes", Stagehands finish their Silent City saga with "Now or Never", and Those Among Us try for a new wave epic with "The Final Hour".

    Coming Soon:

Bright Midnight - White Shoes (listen)
Stagehands - Now or Never (listen)
Those Among Us - The Final Hour (listen)

Awesome! I've been on a huge musical kick lately (thanks to Glee and rewatching Xena), so this is great news.
