    History of Rock Listen Alongs

Here's an idea. What if we, as a forum, selected 6 or so albums to listen to at the same time on a weekend? We'd vote for the albums, and then whoever didn't have it would get it. Once we all had it, we'd play at a specific time and discuss in this thread, or we'd make a new thread for each album listen along, depending. Then, we'd vote again the next week for new albums. We'd try to have a ton of diversity or we could try for a theme. Whichever.

    Thoughts?

    Winners:

A Place to Bury Strangers - A Place to Bury Strangers
Death Breath - Stinking Up the Night
    echolyn - Mei
    Argicantus - Habibi

I'm for it, if only to make you listen to a whole lot of Death Metal.

This would be a bit hard though, especially since a few people can be really busy, as well as the issue of getting said albums.
Not removing this until we get some Sunn O)))
in which case this will be on for a while.

Not opposed to the thought in the slightest, and this'll kick my ass into gear so I actually follow through on trying it out.

Which is understandable, so we'd make sure to have the six albums spread out over the weekend to accomodate everyone to get into at least one listen along. I also think we have enough people in different parts of the U.S. that you'd have pretty constant traffic to the listen alongs if they were timed properly.

We could also discuss what times work for everyone. I would think 12 PM PST and 3 PM EST would be a good time, and then have an early bird 9 AM PST/12 PM EST and a late night 9 PM PST/12 AM EST.

Well, we'd as a forum be voting, so the chances of it being particularly bad are pretty low, I would say.

If I can participate I will, but I can throw nominations in

Death or Morbid Angel better make an album appearance though

3 or 4 sounds more reasonable than 6, but otherwise I am in unless like stasis said I am familiar with the album and think that it's total ****.

I think this is a cool idea, and the likely hood of listening to music monstrosities is low here so I'll probably be able to participate for the most part.
I wish to be a magician of words!
