    Because it's not a genre. It's a radio and marketing format, not a genre. Same applies to indie.


    While I voted indie, there are a number of useless options in that poll. Also any term that simply implies a difference from the traditional format (avant-garde, experimental, post-) tend to be pretty useless. And war metal.

    I always find powerviolence to be particularly worthless as a genre label.

    Also, at least half of the things that Wikipedia thinks are genres.
