Heavy Rain imo is better, haven't played AW but based on reviews it doesn't look good

Why are you guys comparing these games?

Heavy Rain is a crime drama/thriller.
Alan Wake is a psychological horror/thriller.

Heavy Rain is an interactive film with focus on quick time action events, clue gathering and so forth.
Alan Wake is an video game with focus on Silent Hill-inspired atmosphere and gameplay...

Both are amazing games, but aren't relatable nor comparable.

Heavy Wake by far although Alan Rain is definitely worth your time as well.

To be honest, video game critics, along with mainstream music critics, generally aren't particularly good at what they do. It's not necessarily their fault, but video games are so different than art mediums like novels or films that it's very difficult to give an objective opinion, especially when the vast majority of film critics already view Call of Duty 4 the game which all other games must be compared to.

Besides, with all that said, the reviews for Alan Wake are quite favorable.

Heavy rain is a cinematic game. Alan Wake is an action game. If you want to be immersed in a cool story, go with Heavy Rain, if you want to be immersed in a GAME, go with Alan Wake.

Haven't played Heavy Rain but I am enjoying Alan Wake...but it would be so much better as a movie. The story is really interesting and is keeping me going but the gameplay needs a lot of work and it seems like some of the story is dragged out just for the sake of Gameplay.
