Atomic Rooster gets you a ton of credit Fei

Surprised you did not label Lucifer's Friend as Prog. Metal as well

    However,

Eloy - "Between the Times" - 1976 - Progressive Metal

this alone makes the list awesome, Pentagram and Supernaut enhance it even more

I like it, I will have to listen to some of these, but what I know is absolutely genius. Good Job.
I believe I have something in common with Buckethead, we both have said we like Guns N' Roses just to get chicks.

That first album and particularly that song are not exceptionally proggy in regards to Lucifer's Friend.

Supernaut I am on the fence about. First off there is absolutely no information on them. They might not have ever actually existed. Secondly they didn't have vocals. It's the one and only instrumental track on the setlist but Jesus for the mid 70's it is absolutely HEAVY.

Personal favorites: Icecross and first use of the double bass kick in metal, Legend for being the first epic metal track years before Manowar, and Riot for being speed metal before Judas Priest gets the credit. Also love Buffalo for being absolutely metal as **** and just as metal as 80s Motorhead and White Witch for being a more metal version of Zep.

Really good list, but some of those are just Hard Rock, not metal, namely Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, KISS and Deep Purple. There is a difference between Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. Robert Plant criticizes people who call Led Zeppelin Metal, because a 1/4th of their stuff is acoustic. Led Zeppelin's genres are Rock, Hard Rock, Folk Rock, and Blues-Rock.
    RB Wishlist:
    Candlemass
    Cream
    Genesis
    Hüsker Dü
    King Crimson
    Kyuss
    Led Zeppelin
    Ne Obliviscaris
    Pink Floyd
    Porcupine Tree
    Type O Negative

y'know it might just be me, but Black Dog was very very metal for it's time

edit: If you believe deep purple isn't metal, I don't know what to tell you.
I want my money back for not being able to spend more money!

Deep Purple is Hard Rock. Hush, Smoke on the Water, Highway Star, Lazy, Child in Time, The Mule, Black Night, Knocking at Your Back Door, etc. are Hard Rock, not Heavy Metal. Bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Cream, KISS, etc. were some of the main influences to Metal bands.

if you have accept you have to list BALLS TO THE WALL for them. you
should only choose songs from the 80s for accept like:

fast as a shark or breaker or metal heart or sob or even midnight mover
which is a great song but not on their live cds

youre asking for a song that they didnt even put on either of their
LIVE CDS - staying a life and all areas

    HMMMMMMMM

good choice for priest but i would have gone with diff year and
hell bent for leather b/c its a classic and they do it live with the
    harley and all
