What's wrong with Avenged Sevenfold?

I hate their clean vocals, especially when Shadows tries to show off his voice. None of their albums have been able to hold my interest. Also, is it just me or do they have trouble knowing when to end their songs? On quite a few songs, I've noticed that they seem like they're ending the song (and it is usually a pretty good spot to wrap it up), but then they drag it on for at least 2 more minutes.

But I hate their fans more than I hate them, really. Not all fans, but the ones who claim that they're the greatest band ever and are the greatest players of their respective instruments. They also tend to be the kind of people who think they're hardcore metalheads for listening to them and mainstream nu-metal bands like Slipknot and Disturbed.

Nah. i love a7x. but Yes in the songs heart of the sunrise, south side of the sky, and close to the edge pretty much makes them the greatest band in existance

Its mainly because if one person says it, another person believes it. if that person says it another person believes it. Its a pyramid effect that causes many people to "hate" music they dont know. Or maybe they do. idk.

That, to me, just sounds like something Nickelback's bassist (or was it drummer?) said... basically, that they get so many "haters" because those "haters" are jealous. Any sensible person knows that's utter crap.

I won't get into the many reasons I dislike Avenged Sevenfold, but you can't claim that all of their dislike stems merely from some internet fad.

No i cannot. but there has to be at least a portion of that that is true. Theres probably a ton of people who dislike based on musical preference or biases but you know theres at least that one kid who's sitting on his computer thinking, "I wanna make it seem like i know about music so im gonna hate the band everyone else hates".
I agree A7x doesn't deserve the fame they get, but they do, and that's the way it is

Just my opinion, and I'm not very familiar with their music. Pop-punk cont. Good Charlotte 2.0. Try Mastodon instead.

I don't overly dislike the band, I wouldn't buy any of their CDs but they're okay to listen to. I mainly hate the fans. All of them seem to be "A7X RULE!!!" and stuff like that. That's probably been said seeing as this thread's 3 pages long but still.

EDIT: Just looked up two posts. They haven't had any "greatest drummers of all time"...so incredibly overrated. Now that the drummer died he'll be even more overrated

Qft. The Rev was a decent drummer at best; Portnoy, while technically proficient, is such a soulless drummer with no dynamics to speak of whatsoever.

Exactly, how they can compare them to the likes of Bonham and Moon is ridiculous, that's like me saying Travis Barker is the best drummer ever. He's technically good but he doesn't create brilliant songs like the best do.
