Interesting theory, but I don't think a mere patch would be able to add something as big as keyboards

However, keyboards aside, Harmonix previously stated their hands were full with RBN and RB3, so I'm just going to wait until RB3 comes out and see what happens regarding regular DLC.

Option 3: Keyboard will not be supported, but to give RB fans something to hold on to, before Rock Band 3, they will release

Option 4: Nothing will happen, and the waiting will continue, unless they tell us, that they left TB:RB.
Option 2 is out. I really doubt that TBRB can support keyboard. When HMX was releasing the game they probably only had a rough idea of how they would implement a keyboard in RB3. If they had a solution, they could have cheated a 3rd guitar in to play the piano parts until the instrument was released. TBRB is I believe a modified version of RB2.

Option 1 makes little sense. While I read somewhere that the keyboard can be used to play guitar parts, it makes no sense to release the instrument without the "big game" available. It would also require the keyboard to be useable as a guitar in TBRB and RB2, something I have never seen stated.

Option 3 is a possibility, just not likely. The game may go gold, but there is still DLC to work on to have songs available when the game comes out. The people working on these would be the ones most likely to be used for TBRB DLC, so why divert resources from the game meant to but music games back in vogue?

Leaving option 4 until such time as HMX feels it has the luxury of diverting time and money to TBRB.

All I really want for Christmas is a statement that in 2011 HMX is commited to releasing some Beatles DLC. That would make me happy.

    Well that and world peace.

You people still haven't given up on exporting?

Then again they've surprised us before... keyboard... real guitar... who knows what's next.

But I think it's option 4... or they just silently killed it
Sonata Arctica is in Rock Band. This is officially the greatest thing ever.

So do all the songs you listed in your original post. Strawberry Fields Forever, Let it Be, and Hey Jude all have solid guitar, and obviously, bass parts. I'm not sure about Lady Madonna but I'm sure there's some guitar buried in there under the piano track.

I'm hoping that option 1 or 2 happens.
More Metallica, Aerosmith, and Old Guns 'n' Roses for DLC!

Don't get me wrong, I would love for something like that to be true, but it is highly unlikely. I think the best we will get is some singles and maybe an album for the game with no new features, and maybe one or two beatles songs on Rock Band 3 with all the new features. I believe that is the BEST case scenario...
The surviving Beatles and the estates of Lennon and Harrison and the people who represent them, will not allow their songs to appear side by side with other artists on Rock Band 3. I know some are tempted to say "it could happen", but trust me, I've been a Beatle fan for a long time, it won't.

What about "She's Leaving Home" and "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!"?

In case anyone's interested, I was having a look at the old trailers, and Drive My Car is now at Budokan. Horray!

It was made pretty clear that TBRB was a walled off garden so to speak and the songs will not be available for to RB2 or any other version. Yes of course anything could happen in theory, but the odds are ar too long.

So if keyboard is coming it will either be a new game, DLC that subs the keyboard for one of the guitar parts (if the engine can handle it) or just more regular DLC where we play the guitar parts on the keyboard assuming it is comptible.
