How do you stop the cymbal spinning?

    Hi,

    Couldn't find this anywhere else.

I have an Ion kit, upgraded with a TC-10 Pintech cymbal, mounted using a standard cymbal arm with felt washers.

My problem is that the cymbal keeps spinning around when playing, so I'm hardly ever hitting on the strike zone. I have the clamp tightened as much as it will go on the felt, but still no dice.

    Any suggestions to stop this?

I grabbed a washer from a hardware store. It contacts the wing nut better and spreads the force throughout the felt better.

    Drink less before playing.

This. If it is still spinning, using a thicker felt, or even two on top.

A little off topic, but aren't the Rock Band 3 cymbals going to fix this problem? I thought I read somewhere there isn't one set strike area on the cymbal, you can hit anywhere.

Well, Mad Catz cymbals and a Pintechs are apples and oranges, but...

The Mad Catz cymbals, like the stock ION cymbals, do not suffer from rotation, they are locked. The RB3 Mad Catz cymbals will have a full rubber jacket, but still have an optimal strike zone on the leading side. The jacket is to help muffle the sound.

MadCatz cymbals have nothing to do with ION's...
Useless Post of The Year: I'd answer this question, only I don't know what the answer is.
