Question for e-kit RB drummers and RL drummers

Question for e-kit Rock Band drummers:

So what do most people hit when they see Green/Yellow bass (Like the first note in 21 Guns)?

I originally would hit my Green Crash and my Yellow HH, and of course the bass pedal.

However I recently changed the midi on my second crash to yellow (it also sits on the left by the HH), and it seems more correct to be hitting two crashes and the bass pedal.

Real drummers - what is "correct"? (more correct?)

I hope HMX makes tabs available so we can differentiate between yellow HH (closed) and yellow crash, and even more for the blue HH (open) and blue ride.

    So what do you think?

I am just so Excited I can hardly wait for RB3.

    So which are you using?

Your HH w/ kickbox gives you yellow (closed) and blue (open), just like my real HH. Then your other 3 are....?

    yellow blue green

just as u stated the extra yellow is mainly for the double crash.....regardless of what the hihat is, it would never feel right to hit it and a crash at the same time.....so my blue is strictly a ride and never an open hat.....when playing scream i find myself hitting my extra yellow by itself during the confusing part.....that just doesn't sound like a hat to me but i could be wrong.....

added the pic.....yellow, yellow, blue, green for me

It's amazing to me that you play RB on that kit. That's impressive, how much did it run you in total to convert all those drums/cymbals? How well does it work for RB?

the drums have inexpensive pearl mesh heads and ddrum triggers......for a set of 5 triggers i paid $99......the mesh heads were $65 for the 5 piece set.....the surge cymbals are expensive, but 100% accurate and reliable..(maybe a bit loud too).....plug all that into an ion brain that i already had and you get a working rb kit......the triggers can take a little tweaking to get just right but it's near perfect......i can gold star the same songs i did with the ions.....but to stay on topic, i love to really hammer the dual crash parts, full out concert mode......

I generally play G/Y bass as two crashes and a kick, though I can't say for sure that it is ALWAYS correct, it does often sound like two crashes.

I've been wrong on many counts lately, so take that with a grain of salt.

According to RBN authoring guidelines, double-crash should be Y+G. That's not to say it can't be high tom and floor tom, though! Gotta use your ears for the definitive word.

Yea, me too, that is why I am looking forward to the possibility of HMX tabs....

BTW, I'd have to "take it with a grain of salt" from the PopCornHopper.... ;0)
