    My TB:RB DLC Theory

Okay i know i i may just be putting to much thought into this lately but i was thinking the other day. Maybe the reason we haven't had DLC in a while is because there planning on updating the game allowing a 5th instrument (Keyboard like rock band 3). t may be a little complex but what if its a simple update that allows a keyboard but will only allow 4 players (Guitar, Keyboard, Drums, Vocals, or Bass, Keyboard, Vocals, Drums) so it makes the update less complex just allowing it to recognize a new instrument, and then maybe we will get DLC with keyboards for songs like Hey Jude, or Yesterday But at the moment im hoping one of the 2 actual make it on the Rock Band 3 disk

    Who knows

(Hopefully im not opening up a can of worms here)

I don;t think that is the case, because they would have to retrack the songs that are already on the disc, and not only track keyboard parts, but would have to delete track on certain guitar parts because on some songs in the game, the guitar actually plays keyboard parts.

I mean, if you look back at Guitar Hero Smash hits, the precedent is there. Even if it is another company. Someone went back and looked at the old songs, and added new tracks for the new instruments that came out since those songs ORIGINALLY came out. I just don't see them doing it though. they are just "SOOOOO BUSY". With critically acclaimed successes like Green Day RB & The Miley Cyrus DLC packs.....

    It would be nice though.....

    It's not that far down.

Of course, everybody knows that releasing the remaining songs from Revolver is as easy as doing five Miley Cyrus songs, or is comparable in any way.

Seriously... 3 threads with the same name

John Lennon: Ringo isn't even the best drummer in The Beatles.

I can't understand why people just don't make a post in my orignal thread. But whatever. Let's all create the same topics. Woah, what a fun and well organized forum.

Well actually it is. You see, aside from not having someone to personally mail the recordings to Harmonix Inc., the same work goes into charting one song as it does another. Yes, it may COST MORE MONEY, but there is no difference in how a song is charted, unless there are no separate tracks for each instrument. If you want to defend the Miley Cyrus pack, or troll that is fine. But don't apologize for the company. Yes I have been here long enough to notice a new DLC thread everyday. I personally have no interest in telling someone that "THIS THREAD ALREADY EXISTED 37 DAYS AGO, GO FIND THAT THREAD AND COMPLAIN THERE". Bottom line, this forum as Capt. Kicker has said before is really only used for 2 -3 things anymore, For people to start Comparison threads, B. for people to either find a band or ask a question about a microphone, and 3. FOR PEOPLE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT DLC.

If the mods cared or still existed, the 3 threads all asking the same question, or ALL THE THREADS ASKING THE SAME QUESTION, would have been combined. They haven't, so you prove you care more about this then the mods do. No a big deal to me, really, but please stop wasting your time and finger strength to complain to others about stuff that no one else seems to have an interest in. Really, yes this guy could have kept his complaints in the same thread, but really, aren't you used to this by now? I am, and am done wasting my time to tell people otherwise. It is just easier to say, NOPE NO MORE DLC. Thread closed.

NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE, BUT I JUST DON'T SEE THE POINT IN TELLING PEOPLE THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN, AND SEE NO BENEFIT OR CHANGE COME FROM IT.

That's the thing. One of the reasons it costs more money is because they often have to go through a painstaking filtering process at Abbey Road Studios to separate the instruments. Masters from 1966 generally have four tracks for two guitars, bass, drums, lead vocals, harmonies, as well as strings or brass or anything else that needs to be overdubbed. The first few albums had only TWO tracks, usually one for vocals and the other for everything else. Masters from 2009 generally have a separate track for every single vocal or instrumental part. That makes them much easier to work with, as any separation is already done.

That's just one reason they're not comparable. There's also the fact that on top of more work per song, the Miley Cyrus and Nickelback packs had only six songs each, while if they committed to, say, Revolver they'd have to do 11 songs. The Miley and Nickelback packs were also released for a game that's had new songs released every single week for two and a half years. I think breaking a now 135-week streak of DLC would make them look far worse than releasing "crap" DLC, and would only lead to accusations of slacking off and making the Rock Band Network do all the work. Meanwhile, they haven't really promised anything for this game that they haven't already given us.

tl;dr: Probably more profitable, less work, and for a much more demanding platform.
