    Favorite Film Score Soundtracks

Does anyone here listen to film score soundtracks? What are your favorites? Here are some of mine:

    Alien 3 - Elliot Goldenthal
    The Fountain - Clint Mansell
    Amelie - Yann Tiersen
    Poltergeist - Jerry Goldsmith
The Dark Crystal - Trevor Jones
The Usual Suspects - John Ottman
The Lord of the Rings trilogy - Howard Shore
    Aliens - James Horner
The Black Hole - John Barry
    Stargate - David Arnold
Pee Wee's Big Adventure - Danny Elfman
    Tron - Wendy Carlos
    Altered States - John Corigliano
    Signs - James Newton Howard
    Robocop - Basil Poledouris

And pretty much everything John Williams did between 1975 and 1987.

Pee Wee's Big Adventure ftw. Such a weird movie, but it's so awesome.

Vangelis' Blade Runner was the first that came to my head. Pure gold, every track.

    others would include:

    Black Hawk Down (Hans Zimmer)
    Hero (Tan Dun)
Run Lola Run (artist/composer escapes me)
    The Truman Show (Philip Glass)
    RADIOHEAD--OK COMPUTER

    and...

    DMB
    Leonard Cohen
    Editors
    Carbon Leaf
    The Notwist
    Victor Wooten
    The National
    OAR
    The Chameleons

Ooo, good one. I was never into minimalist stuff like Philip Glass until a few years ago, but I remember quite a few scenes in this movie where the music is just awesome.

    On the orchestral side:

All of John Williams's big scores, of course: the Star Wars series, Superman, the Indiana Jones series, Jaws, E.T. and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Jurassic Park is gradually growing on me as well.

James Horner: Apollo 13, Titanic, An American Tail.

Jerry Goldsmith: Star Trek, the Rambo series (particularly Rambo: First Blood Part II), The Secret of NIMH.

Michael Kamen: Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Don Juan DeMarco.

John Barry: Body Heat, Somewhere in Time, and of course, the original James Bond movies.

Henry Mancini: The Pink Panther, Charade, Hatari!

Hans Zimmer: The Lion King, As Good as It Gets.

Danny Elfman: Batman, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands.

    David Arnold: Independence Day.

    On the electronic side:

Harold Faltermeyer: Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun.

    Tangerine Dream: Firestarter.

Giorgio Moroder: Electric Dreams, The NeverEnding Story (the American/international cut).

Vangelis: Chariots of Fire. Blade Runner will probably become a favorite if I listen to it enough.

    Don't Change - INXS
    Highway Song - Blackfoot
Tonight She Comes - The Cars
