It would probably be best to mark new additions to the list. Either by date the price changed or the date it was noticed/added to the list. If you're going to sort by song name in alphabetical order, it could get a little confusing.

I guess you're right. Just wanted to get the thread started and worry about the finer points later![]()
Did they give a reason why for the price changes?

I know Sissyfuss was lowered because it didn't do much business. So they're hoping by dropping it to $1 will generate some impulse buys. I bought it at $2 and don't regret it.
As for the increases? All those songs have, according to Keldon, registered over 1000 total scores each. Which tends to also be the general cutoff for PS3 porting. I'd guess they think they can maintain the current sales rate or at least believe the potential drop off won't be too much to be offset by the new price.
Six of them are metal songs and the prog is really prog metal. And metal happens to be the most 'popular' RBN category that doesn't have 'rock' in it somewhere. So they'll probably still move.
They're also all RhythmAuthors songs. If it doesn't work out too well, expect the prices to drop when the next window opens for them.
Yes, we posted a notification here to explain the reasoning.
A majority of these tracks we published within the first week of RBN going live back in March and initially entering a huge unknown, wanted to promote RBN as a whole by putting up a lot of quality content at the lowest possible price.
Now that price modifications are possible and RBN has established a strong reputation, we're looking ahead to RB3's launch where an entire new crowd will be introduced to RBN for the first time. It's that crowd that we're targeting with this update because we really feel these songs are well worth $2 (at least to those who enjoy the type of music).
In doing so we didn't want to randomly surprise the community with increases. I don't expect our advance notice will suddenly drive people to buy songs at the same price they've already declined, but for those unaware the announcement may save some points if they were to otherwise discover them later.
Also keep in mind that 70% of our authored songs are still $1, and this doesn't mark the beginning of a new era of greed. We'll always give the recommendation to lean toward exposure over revenue because that's generally the best part. But there comes a line where price difference can result in large revenue differences with little impact on overall sales, and in our best judgment the line was crossed on these.
I don't mean to derail the thread (great idea btw!), but wanted to respond to the speculation here.

Good thing I picked up Africa before it went up.
Now all I need is the Tragically Hip to shave 2$ off and then I'd have another song.

For anyone who hasnt picked up the Glass Hammer songs, you should check them outI picked both up at 160 MSP and thought they were both worth it
Good songs and fun to play on drums (not sure about other instruments though). Definitely worth the new 80 MSP price!
Wasn't sure about the Glass Hammer songs when I first heard the previews, but for 80 points, I'll check them out. Also glad I got all the songs that have had price increases so far while they were 80. I'd buy Atomic if it were cheaper too.

Seriously, I'm not taking the link out of my sig until we've got Dethklok.
Can anyone confirm this? I thought they were always 80
EDIT:
You are right. Three songs (you're not alone, You take it all and Satellite) were 160 and are now 80.
Will update the first post later! Thanks!!
