I've listened to all of Nevermind, so it's not just based off of Smells Like Teen Spirit.

...That's it? I can't remember if it was this thread, but someone said they pieced together Nevermind from live versions, and it's far better, and they had it right. Nevermind was written to be Nirvana, but it definitely doesn't sound the part. I would recommend their other two albums, because really, all three of their albums are different.

I've listened to the others as well and I detest them all, as well as Nirvana's influence on music. I'm doubtful a different version of Nevermind would change my mind either. Smells Like Teen Spirit will always be Smells Like Teen Spirit.

What do you mean by Nirvana's influence on music?
Despite all my rage, I'm still just Nicolas Cage

Would it still be "Smells like Teen Spirit" if Nirvana had Black Metal Shrieks? Synthesizers? Female Operatic Vocals? A 2nd Guitarist when Recording the song? Was a duet featuring Courtney Love? Used a Slide Guitar? Had Steel Drums? Did all (or most) of the above?
Bands I'd love to see as DLC for Rock Band:

    Bathory []
    Bal Sagoth []
    Amorphis []
    Emperor [X]
    Enslaved []

Listen to Bleach back to back with a The Jesus Lizard record, preferably Shot.

No, I mean, Nirvana popularizing alternative rock. I know, it was popular in the late 80s as well, but after Nevermind, metal and rock officially became 'outdated' and there was nothing but Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Stone Temple Pilots, and the like.

Nirvana also killed being proficient on the guitar, as alternative, grunge, and most 'rock' (which is usually just pop punk) these days rarely utilizes anything outside of the SLTS power chord. No complex riffs, nothing interesting to listen to, no guitar solos: just a simplistic riff.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when Kurt Cobain was on Rolling Stone's Greatest Guitarists of All Time list...He was even in the Top 15...

Greatest guitarist doesn't mean most proficient or technical.
