My cousin refers to music as "old" all the time. She's 14 and likes all the rap/hip hop mainstream, auto-tuned garbage. So, I put in some Immortal Technique for her one day and this was our exact conversation:

    Me: "What do you think?"

Her: "It's good, but it's old."

    Me: "So?"

Her: "Well, no one else I know listens to it."

    Me: "Why does that matter?"

    Her: "Because it just does."

    Me: O_o

People like us don't get it, but I guess when you're in high school and want to fit in with the crowds, listening to music that is currently in and popular is very important. When I was in high school, I could not care less what was popular and "in" at the time, I listened to whatever I thought was good and I assume most people here felt the same way.

Lol, okay "Kanye is one of the illegal narcotic substance-est producers out there". Happy now?

I suppose in the sense that it's possible to overdose on said narcotic substances and die a relatively painless death

Kanye is a very good hip-hop producer... I'm pretty sure I'm a better rapper than he is, though.

    Here's an unpopular opinion.

I think Coldplay is one of the most unpleasant, untalented, uncreative, and generally horrible bands of all time.

I'm curious to see how this plays out, with all the Coldplay lovers. I don't want to get into a huge debate, I stated my unpopular musical opinion and I'll leave it at that.

I can understand untalented and uncreative, since those are usual opinions, but unpleasant? That would mean it's creepy and unnerving, or just plain noisy. I don't see how Coldplay's songs would be more unpleasant than boring, if I had to find negative things to say about it.

    OK, here's one:

I think Justin Bieber may have had potential if he didn't instantly go all pop as soon as he got noticed by Usher. I actually like some of his early YouTube videos and such, which included contemporary-style and acoustic songs.

I find Coldplay's music unpleasant because, frankly, it puts me to sleep. The singing is terrible and amongst the most lethargic in alternative rock, in my honest opinion. Hearing the singer's whiny mumble just unnerves me.

Again, not asking anyone to agree with me, just my opinion.

I don't think that's a very unpopular, maybe it is on here. There seem to be a good amount of Coldplay fans here.

I would say half and half. Personally, I'm on and off with Coldplay.

And I'll throw in a related UO:

Parachutes is their worst album (though to be fair, I have still yet to listen to Mylo Xyloto).
    _ Genesis
    _ Kamelot
    _ Pure Reason Revolution
    _ VNV Nation
    _ More Tribe
