Metallica's Master of Puppets album is vastly overrated. It's not the greatest metal album of all time. That's Rust in Peace. Metallica's only masterpiece was Ride the Lightning, the rest of their 80s material was just good, and everything since has sucked (I guess I'm with the masses on that).
I do agree about MoP, it is vastly overrated,in my opinion both RTL and Kill em All, are masterpieces. I couldn't even begin to say the greatest metal album. Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath is certainly one of the first ones that pop into my mind, but that's because I love Dio.

I would put Kill 'Em All and Master of Puppets at the same level and Ride the Lightning above them both. As for And Justice for All... I'm a bit rusty on.

My metal album of choice, is and was always, The Black Halo.

I have to agree on MoP, but my favourite Metallica album is Kill 'Em All. Ride the Lightning's the second best and MoP is the 4th with ...AJFA being 3rd.

Edit: I have another UO. It's:

Risk by Megadeth isn't Megadeth's worst album.

I think I agree with this. I don't like the album as a whole much anymore, but that's a solid song.

That along with Melissa and a few others would be my best.

Rising is 2nd place to Rust in Peace, in my book, but only barely. Both incredible albums.

I suppose Cryptic Writing isn't that much better then Risk, so you're probably right there. What do you think IS their worst album?

My choice for best metal album is Powerslave, but Rising and Rust in Peace aren't far behind at all.

    And I agree about MOP.

Have you SEEN Strawberry Swing? Top-down chalk adventure!
Sing The Sorrow is definately their most consistent album. Their early stuff has extreme highs, but just as extreme lows, unfortunately.
