I personally think that Seasons is their best album myself. It combines the intensity of their first 3 albums with the slower, creepy aspects of South of Heaven pretty well.

And I love the first 45 seconds or so of "Raining Blood". When the blast beats kick in, it loses me.

Slayer is definitely my least favorite of the big 4. Never been a fan.

The album itself is good, but I must confess I hate "One More Time". They have so much better songs... One More Time is Daft Punk's Enter Sandman. I think the song is dull overall, but maybe it is the excessive use of vocoder I can't get past?

Giving this album a relisten (been awhile)...

I'll actually expand on this and say it's a great album. But man, it has a dull, dull opening track

While we're at it, Anthrax is the best big 4, followed closely by Megadeth. To be honest though, Thrash is a genre I'm pretty eh on at this point (with exceptions, but overall it's eh)

As far as the Big 4 of Thrash is concerned, I prefer the works of Sodom, Coroner, Kreator, Overkill, Dark Angel, Metal Church, Sanctuary, Celtic Frost, Forbidden, Exodus, Testament, and Sepultura (Pre-Chaos AD) over anything the Big 4 released.

I feel like the "Big 4" got to be what they were because they all played a rather accessible brand of thrash metal. That's by no means a bad thing in its own right, but it does leave a bit to be desired when compared to some other thrash bands that were lesser-known but did a lot more.

On the subject on the Big 4, in my opinion I would rank them this way:

Metallica>Slayer>Megadeth>Anthrax

I really do enjoy Metallica and Slayer, even Metallica's later stuff. I can't say I care for Megadeth that much. I don't think they've done anything half interesting since Countdown to Extinction, and I think Dave Mustaine is a horrible human being. Also I find Anthrax to be kind of laughable...

For the most part I think there is better thrash out there in the likes of Coroner, Exodus, Onslaught, Anacrusis, Watchtower, Overkill, Testament, Vektor, Dark Angel, Kreator, Artillery, Forbidden and Sodom. But I still count Metallica and Slayer among my favorite thrash bands.
