A Forest of Stars is pretty awesome. Their debut is a lot more "Black Metal" than their second, which is bordering more on on a folk/prog/avant hybrid than a metal one, but it's my favorite between the two. Both are great albums, though.

Pearl Jam are a blues-rock band. Excepting curiosities like "Dirty Frank" and "Spin the Black Circle", of course.

I'd say Pearl Jam is just Alternative Rock.

You can just withdraw Pearl Jam as derivative and boring; as well as being one of the biggest precursors to post-grunge alongside Creed and Bush.

I still don't buy this "Ten is great" stuff.

Ten isn't bad at all, although Even Flow drags the album down a bit.

I find it boring, uninspired and quite underwhelming.
