I thought it was about being all "DGAF", but the elitists add so much rules for Punk that it's basically become the genre that gives the most amount of ****s. this is why Sum 41 don't wanna call themselves Punk (I wouldn't either, though).
More and more, I'm starting to think that the bands they don't consider punk are the bands they don't like. I really cannot see how The Offspring are any more punk than Blink-182.

well it has to do with the sounds they make.

for instance, the first few Offspring records sound like punk records. and nearly all of Blink 182's albums (minus Cheshire Cat I guess) sound like pop records that are made for the radio, like the latter part of Offspring's discography.

Punk is about the community within, there is hardly a "DGAF" attitude and if there's one thing they hate it's the kids and the labels that try and cash in on the name.

I actually still really like that song. The whole Ray Charles/ Jamie Foxx background sample does it for me.

Hell, I prefer Blink to The Offspring (please don't go around thinking I listen to much 90's wannabe pop punk) and I even realize The Offspring were far more punk than Blink ever was.

Great song. One of the greatest of all time? Not IMO. But I guess it's one of the best in the 2000's.
