And Justice For All suffered from Metallica intentionally trying to make the album sound like s*** with weak production and taking away all the bass tracks because of their hatred for Jason Newstead. Fitting that after that album Metallica's only decent albums were live performance albums and cover albums.
Bands I'd love to see as DLC for Rock Band:
Bathory []
Bal Sagoth []
Amorphis []
Emperor [X]
Enslaved []
AJFA has by far the best drumming on any metallica record. It's also the most technically ambitious album. I'm not really trying to defend it but it is miles in front of black album and death magnetic. It's side B is amazingly strong.

Likely a very unpopular opinion: I'd be the ultimate hypocrite if I said I had anything against downloading music, as I've downloaded thousands of songs, but I personally believe all music enthusiasts should put some money into the hobby. The occasional record purchase, supporting favorite artists in live shows, buying vinyl, whatever. It's of course pretty unrealistic to expect someone to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on music, but I do think it's possible to develop a large sense of entitlement. A record a year is fine for all I care, just prove those hardcore anti-piracy guys at least somewhat wrong.
Besides, beyond the whole up-your-ass-with-morals angle, vinyl does kick the living **** out of MP3.

What, that's totally fine. I buy hard copies of stuff I like. I just went and bought the new Coldplay album the day it came out. I coulda got it off Amazon for $10 and had it shipped to my house on release, but I opted to wait until the end of the day, go to a store(after having to ask if it was in stock, even!), and bought the bundle that came with a sweet t-shirt for $22. On top of the Rock Band DLC, that's $32 for a single artist over a single album(promotion).
I also bought the new Fray single legally, with some credit Amazon was offering(still is, if anyone has a Twitter and wants $2 for a music purchase on Amazon). Hard copy? No. Money to the controlling parties? Yes.

That's why i feel ok with having pirated Coheed songs. Those songs got me into them and has made me see them live 14 times and counting, and buy all of their albums on both CD and vinyl. Not to mention all the merch I've bought. I feel like I've legitimized myself, lol.
