I read that Dub music kinda started from producers in Jamaica remixing and sampling songs from a bunch of Ska and Reggae music to basically make filler B-sides for the singles. And it just sorta branched from there.

This is the closest I've seen to bridging the gap between Dub and Dubstep:

I suspect that a solid 99% of the dubstep fanbase wouldn't know Scientist or King Tubby if they saw/heard them on the street.

I really don't think Dubstep is all that bad, I even think some Dubstep is awesome.
Sure it's overrated, but I still think it's good.

UO: The Black Dahlia Murder are a pretty good Death Metal band.
Not removing this until we get some Sunn O)))
in which case this will be on for a while.

That is an unpopular music opinion. Personally, the Black Dahlia Murder doesn't measure up well against the likes of Nocturnus, Death, Morbid Angel, Vader, old Paradise Lost, or old Amorphis in my eyes. But to each their own I guess.
Bands I'd love to see as DLC for Rock Band:

    Bathory []
    Bal Sagoth []
    Amorphis []
    Emperor [X]
    Enslaved []

I'm not saying they're up there with the classics or anything nor are they the best modern Death Metal band, but I just think they're good and pretty consistent, and I enjoy their music.

They're decent-ish, especially by the standards of the 'scene DM bands'.

They're all right, which, for a "scene band", is a pretty good accomplishment.

Not something I'd seek out and listen to, but if I was given tickets (for free or low cost) to see them live, I'd probably take the person offering up on it.

They did a really good job on an At The Gates cover, IIRC. I don't really enjoy that much of what they do though.
