Upon first listen, TDAG was pretty good. Not necessarily something I'd listen to all the time, and not the amazing, moving experience many make it out to be, but definitely good. Steps into slight genericism a little now and then, but as a whole, a pretty cool listen. I'm sure my view will change in time, though, it always does, for better or worse.

Not that I've listened to a ton of Slayer or Anthrax (huge Megadeth fan though), but Metallica is the weakest of the "Big Four" IMO. I just can't get past Lars' drumming.

Metallica is just one big disappointment after another for me.
First they kick out Mustaine (although understandable given the circumstances even if the entire band were heavy drinkers) who I feel is a better guitarist than Hammett, then Burton dies (who was pretty much their only "great" musician IMO after Mustaine left). And the aforementioned terrible drumming from Lars.
I want to really like Metallica, but I can't muster up more than an "eh" for most of their stuff (even the stuff that's considered great, like Master of Puppets).

If I had to rank them right now, I'd go:
    Megadeth > Slayer > Anthrax > Metallica

Deja Entendu's great, too, despite it being their first "mainstream" album.

UO: Anthrax is the best band of the Big 4.

I'd probably go Megadeth > Slayer > Metallica > Anthrax.

As I've said before, if I were to make a Big Four of Thrash I'd replace the latter two with Testament and Exodus, but that's just me.

The album itself is good, but I must confess I hate "One More Time". They have so much better songs... One More Time is Daft Punk's Enter Sandman. I think the song is dull overall, but maybe it is the excessive use of vocoder I can't get past?

Although I wouldn't argue by saying that Anthrax was objectively the weakest of the four.
