    Beatles On This Day

    Each Day Anyone can post any beatles or beatles related event that happened on this day.

    Today August 22

    The Beatles Played in my hometown Vancouver. (To bad I wasn't born)

    I call Thursday the 26th because it's my birthday and also a pretty important date in Beatles history (at least I think it is).

    Lillian Powell trips from Liverpool to Canada.

    Filmed performance at the Cavern, for a Granada Television programme. First filmed record of the Beatles.

    1963
    It is announced that 500 000 advance orders have been received for the next British Beatles single ('She Loves You'/'I'll Get You').

    Concert at the Gaumont, Bournemouth, with Tommy Quickly and Billy J. Kramer with the Dakotas.

    1964
    Concert at the Empire Stadium, Vancouver (30 minutes). Filmed.

    'A Hard Day's Night' LP number 1, 5th week (UK Record Retailer chart).

    The 'Liverpool Echo' reports that Brian is trying to become the Searchers' manager.

    1965
    Concert at the Portland Coliseum.

    Mike Maxfield, the Dakotas' lead guitar, leaves the group.

    1966
    US Gold Record certification for 'Revolver' (1 million copies sold).

    Chappell Recording Studios. Time unknown. Recording: 'Your Mother Should Know' (takes 1-8). Producer: George Martin; Engineer: John Timperley; 2nd Engineer: John Iles.

    Studio 2. 7.00pm-4.45am. Recording: 'Back In The USSR' (takes 1-5). Tape copying: 'Baby You're A Rich Man' (of remix mono 1). Producer: George Martin; Engineer: Ken Scott; 2nd Engineer: John Smith.
    First session after Ringo left the group. Copy of 'Baby You're A Rich Man' for Martin.

    Cynthia accuses John of adultery.
