31 days of TAG Dec 14th Entry.

This was a song that went into testing before TAG was even a fart in my butt (wait that's disgusting), and unfortunately fell off the planet.

I loved the hell out of this song (and it doesn't hurt that it's damn funny on top of being just great music), so I tracked down the rights owners and offered up TAG's services for free in order to get it in the game.

Luckily they agreed, and Rock Band ended up with another awesome piece of music.

Just a great send up of KISS, and if you haven't done so go check out the band's video for the song. It is faaaan-tastic.

31 days of TAG Dec 15th Entry.

I went back and forth for quite a while on this next one. I love both songs by the band we've got in the game, and I wasn't sure which one I liked more. Or I would have posted one of these a lot earlier.

Well after more than two weeks I finally settled on Gold Teeth on a Bum.

I love Farewell Mona Lisa as well, but for me, Gold Teeth is just a little better musically.

Or maybe I'm insane :P

31 days of TAG Dec 16th entry.

Out of an entire album to chose from why did I pick this one?

Well first up it's Devin Mother****ing Townsend. Need I say more?

I do? Oh secondly, out of an album that not only did Devin retool for Rock Band, that has such moments as ghost vocals, Ziltoid trolling you during guitar solos, 1 second all instrument 'solos', spazzing venues, and characters (my favorite bit has to be the Ziltoid making your characters scream balls and then jump up and fart in ZTO), this one stands out as extra awesome. Simply for the vocal authoring we did for the 6th Dimensional Planet Smasher to make his words look alien.

Oh and at the very VERY end of the song Herman (the Planet Smasher) goes on a rant about Rock Band.

And says Boner.

(For those that don't know Devin wanted to do something special with the Ziltoid album instead of just the standard play the songs (not that there is anything wrong with the standard playing songs). So he recorded new dialogue for Ziltoid and we can up with the story that Ziltoid (being the greatest guitar player in the universe) discovers Rock Band and is disgusted that grown people are playing plastic guitars. So using his superior Ziltoidian technology he beams himself directly into Rock Band and starts ****ing with the game. The players have to play through the entire album to 'beat' Ziltoid and force him out of the game.)

It was such a bizarre experiment, and I love it to death.

This one is a little slower, but I've really grown to love it.

If you're looking for a challenge, something that's going to push your Rock Band playing to the absolute limit...then you're definitely looking in the wrong place. However if you're looking for a great song to play along to then you're definitely in the right place.

31 Days of TAG Dec 18th entry (yay caught up again )

Another one that I had to go back and forth on over which song was my favorite ( #firstworldproblems), but I finally settled on this one.

An incredible song from an incredible band, but not only that our venue author outdid himself on this one. I love how the camera jumps around from character to character during the beat around the 1:25 mark.

We've got three songs from these guys in the game, and it was really tough for me to pick a favorite.

31 days of TAG Dec 20th entry.

Being a huge fan of Hey Ash Watcha Playin'? I've had the next song stuck in my head for quite a while now. So I knew I had to get it into Rock Band one way or another.

It's rare that a newer song that isn't from your childhood has the power to remind you of said childhood. Like a lost soundtrack to your favorite Nintendo game that you forgot you played, hearing this track just brings back a flood of memories of playing the ol 8bit NES.

That is if you're old a decrepit like me.

Even without the nostalgia factor this is one heck of a tune that will get you bouncing along to the beat as you play.

Oh and go check out Hey Ash Watcha Playin while you're at it. Ashley also voices Tiny Tina in Borderlands 2, and her brother is one of the lead writers on the game.

So you know HAWP is some funny stuff

Call it chiptune, electronic, nerdcore, or call it what you will. I call it awesome.

This next song was from one of the first artists we announced way back before we were even TAG.

I've been a huge fan of the lead singer of this band since way back when he was the lead singer of Union Underground (another waaaay awesome band, that deserved to be a lot more popular than they were).

This next track is a catchy as hell rock tune that belongs in every Rock Band players library (and in your mp3 collection).
