That's occasionally the case, especially with anything of age. And sometimes even with newer material, they have to go pay for some studio hours to get the material.

Yet another reason it's easier to deal with unsigned artists. Even though the payoffs aren't quite A7X size.

I like hearing from the authoring groups about licensing and stuff, even if it's about sad things, like deals that went through. It's a cool little behind-the-scenes.
So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, good night.

Always a chance for any band who wants to be in RBN, as long as they want to. Contact them, get them interested and point them to an authoring group.

The lucky ones do. In my case, the few big bands we've ever contacted that have actually replied back, we've released on RBN. Of the hundreds of emails I've sent, I've gotten a few "yes" replies, a couple "no", and the majority no reply at all.

Thankfully, my submissions inbox has quite a number of artists interested in getting in the game, and our clients tend to want to put more songs in after the fact. I'm sure the same goes for most groups.

However with sales slipping even further and further on RBN content, I'm fairly certain that this isn't going to happen at this point. We've had a lot of big named bands lined up that have since backed out due to the falling sales.

I could list all of them but I don't want to make you guys all weep >_>

I carry this burden alone :P
its too bad cuz those two songs are great.

    Yep, I know I've got a few.
One band we were in talks with, a month or so ago actually, pulled out, although to be fair, it was because they ended up getting in touch with Harmonix instead and wanted to go through official DLC channels instead of RBN once they had the option.

So sad the sales have supposedly dropped so much. Would've been awesome to have another band like A7X on the RBN.
8/9/11 (Def Leppard) will be marked as the best day in RB history for me. HMX, major thanks for all this amazing DLC you put out!

    Oh they have dropped.

For instance when RBN first started songs hit 10,000 downloads. When we (TAG) first started it wasn't uncommon for a song to hit 5000 downloads.

Now if it hits 1000 it's doing insanely well.

For most established labels/bands that's just no longer worth their time, unfortunately.

in my opinion, it's because Rock Band 3 has far too little to enjoy.
    DLC:
    500+ Rock Band songs/exports/bonusDLC
    200+ Guitar Hero songs/exports/bonusDLC
    Guitar/Bass/Drum/Vocal: E,M,H&X

I have to wonder if more RBN songs than the market can stand are being released.

Who do I have to get drunk in order to get "Red Solo Cup" in Rock Band?
