He's INSANE
Ok, criticizing a drummer for having the same patterns in two different songs is one of the absolutely most ridiculous criticisms you can ever come up with.

I really wouldn't have included Neil Peart in a "last 25 years" list. But I do like a lot of the drummers on the list and think it's pretty good overall.

For me (if Peart were removed from the equation), Chad Smith would be much higher on the list and Dave Grohl would be #1.

Joey...is this a ****ing joke? Did 4chan raid that poll to put him first? Honestly, I could name 20 better drummers in the past 25 years off the top of my head. There are a lot of obvious exclusions, and the "they missed little-known drummers" argument can't even fly, because then where the hell is Danny Carey (who should be on the list anyway)? At least there were some good names on there (Portnoy, Copeland, Freese)...but all these are offset by the very presence of Travis Barker.

Lack of Jimmy Chamberlin and Chris Pennie and the Presence of Joey Jordison and Barker make this list complete fail.

Neil Peart would be my pick, probably. I don't listen to Slipknot, but a friend of mine who plays drums keeps telling me Joey is one of the best. And Dave Grohl is also a very talented drummer, and it is common knowledge that Nirvana would be nowhere without Dave. His drumming was amazing.

I like The Rev too. R.I.P

Barker is a good drummer, even if his studio stuff with Blink-182 is pretty bland (then again, the fact that he can keep a steady beat puts him above most punk drummers...). Still not sure I'd put him in a top 20, though.

Jordison is better than a lot of people give him credit for being, but he's not a #1 drummer anywhere (to paraphrase what John Lennon said about Ringo Starr, I wonder if Jordison is even the best drummer in the band).

Pennie would be an obvious oversight of major names, as would Danny Carey or Gavin Harrison. If we were to get into minor names, none of those three would probably make my top ten, but they all might get into a top 20.

I think a little bit of slop is part of the Punk sound.

Barker plays hard, but he sacrifices technique. The man has a ton of energy, but I don't really consider him anything special, especially compared to drummers like Brian Chippendale who are exceedingly more energetic and technical.

Brian Blade easily, alot of great modern jazz drummers are bestowed with illustrious titles such as 'the next Tony Williams' or 'the rightful heir to Elvin Jones' but this guy actually deserves it.
