Not only does MCR lack Hardcore elements, but presence of Hardcore elements isn't the only thing that makes up Post-Hardcore.

What would be accomplished if we all agreed on what genre such and such band is? All that's really happened is we've stopped forming our own opinion. I hear bands like Poison referred to as Heavy Metal all the time, and I accept that as that persons opinion. What I don't do is get all bent out of shape about it and proceed to tell them it's Glam/Hair metal and call them stupid. Ffs why can't you all just acknowledge the fact that other people don't think the way you do?

All the bands I listed are HOT TOPICcore, ...I never said they were the progenitors of their type of music.

Maybe because some people are either ignorant (this is in no way being used as a derogatory term) or don't hear everything in certain styles of music?

Genres are incredibly important, they just don't seem that way when you don't really use them that often or aren't a hardcore music fan.
