Hopefully we will have some awesome new forum software up here soon that actually can handle the posts and the guests and the visitors and the general craziness going on. I'll let you know.
all good.............................................. .yyz
Hey now, they've actually been doing pretty constant "damage control" with the speedz. There were a lot of problems within the first month and they jumped right on it and from then on its popped up a few times as an actual issue on the boards, though I'm sure its been pretty constant behind the scenes.
well Sean, at least this isn't the Guitar Hero forums where you get logged out every 30 seconds, SQL errors when you try to post, etc.
I'll take "slow" over "broken" anytime.
But you better think ahead even further as the traffic this place is getting now is really not going to be anything like the traffic you will be getting in another two months...it's going to be ugly (but in a good way!)
ps: vbulletin software is more than capable of handling 2500+ concurrent users...the problem usually lies in the server itself (SQL sometimes as it pertains to cpu/RAM use...we've had to upgrade our own forum servers twice now and we don't even get the kind of traffic that you are GOING to get soon...the SQL queries are what kills the speed)
this forum is still lightyears ahead of the Guitar Hero forum's. We got them in that department.
thanks for the update, I couldn't log in at all yesterday, but its running pretty smoothly right now
