What I learned in School today

So in school (Blech) We had to watch this movie about Cavemen. (It wasn't the Ringo one) In it the first humanoid animal was named Lucy. So whenever I hear this name I always think of Lucy In The Sky with Dimonds, right. Turns out that she was named after the song. So, the first animal to walk on 2 legs was named after a Beatles song, which would also make it like the first name ever. Also they have shot Beatles songs in to space. Lucky aliens.....

This is actually how I heard one of my first Beatles songs. A long time ago ( a few years ago) in History class we were discussing the first humans and how they named one remains of one they discovered "Lucy" because of the Beatles song. So my teacher played Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds. And the song got ingrained into my mind because my teacher played it at the beginning and end of the class every day for about a week. Maybe that's why I don't like the song very much. Because I got to sick of it.

It was one of my first Beatles songs too. I remember buying Sgt. Pepper and hearing it in the car on the drive back from the store. I already knew the Beatles but when I heard that CD....woah. I had never Heard LITSWD before and it blew my mind. Another great thing about starting with The Beatles is when you hear a song like When I'm 64 and your like, they wrote this? God, that was great.....

Really? That is crazy, I feel like that song should be one of the better known beatles songs. (Even if it isn't one of my favs). But that is still pretty awesome. I feel like I have heard that before, but am not sure. Lucy, the caveman....or woman for that matter.

Elton John does a really good cover of the song also. I think Lennon played w/him for the cover. It is good.

Yeah that is a good cover. John joined him at mandison square garden and they also played "I Saw Her Standing There" that night. JOhn promised that if their collaboration "Whatever ges you threw the Night" became a number 1 hit he would join Elton on stage. Elton JOhn was a big Beatles fan. That must of been a great concert.

I read somewhere that that song was released on an album somewhere (I saw her....Live), but never look for it for some reason. I need to check that out.

Speaking of John & other artists, you should check out "A Toot & A Snore in 74"

Throughout the whole video, I feel like you are about to (or should) start rapping. With the backwards hat, mic, and hand movements, it's perfect.

How did you know you liked the song, or knew that it was Pink Floyd if you don't even know what the correct title is for the song?
If you have to ask, then yes.
