Since when was "help" ever remotely considered a christian rock song? And since when was christian rock not very obvious? This sounds like wishful thinking by Christians to claim something that isn't theirs as theirs.

I don't think many Atheists write Christian Rock songs.

It's only an interpritation. Several songs written by other artists have been seen as such.

Besides, some hymns weren't written by Christians.

Not really. DC Talk covered it in their concerts, so I guess that could be a possible interpretation, but I wouldn't consider it Christian rock.

As far as I know, Christian rock started with Larry Norman.

They do when they're wrestling with their belief. That quote is right at home with some of the things C.S. Lewis, Mother Theresa or even Solomon wrote. God is big enough to handle rage and doubt. Any Christian who hasn't ever shared similar thoughts is just afraid to go there.
