    Gamestop Pre-Order Question

I searched the forums and didn't find this question asked, so forgive me if this is a dumb question.

I preordered the RB3 Keyboard Bundle (for Xbox, fortunately) from Gamestop a week or so ago. I was in a rush so I wasn't really thinking much about the preorder bonus, but I remember getting a code for Beatles Rock Band songs WHEN I predordered the game, but I did not receive any code when I put in my preorder for RB3. Did anyone else get their code when they put their preorder in, or are they not giving it out until the game is released?

Also, my local Gamestop said they'd be doing a midnight release that night, so anyone else who put in a Gamestop preorder may be in luck.

I've always gotten he code on my receipt or in a separate handout upon picking up the game. I think a long time ago I got something when I preordered, but I think they will wait until the release day to give you the code.

Them giving out pre-order bonuses before the game releases is generally a screw-up on their part. They're supposed to give it to you on the receipt or another insert card kind of thing at the time you receive the game.

I'm paying far out the ass for "overnight" shipping, because the site claims that it'll magically turn into release date delivery. I hope that holds true; I arranged to work from home that day so I can sign for the package...

Hopefully the code for the DLC will ship too. I've had bad luck with gamestop preorders. Only reason why I'm going with them this time is because the promises swayed me.

Good luck focusing on work once that game comes!

With The Beatles, I pre-ordered and had it shipped. I had to contact Game Stop to send me my code because they forgot. It was sent through e-mail.

If you ordered it online and opted for shipping, they generally email you the code. I've never had a problem getting them, though you'll always see people on various forums claiming to have not received them. It's hard for me to tell how legitimate those claims are, though, and not just people trying to weasel the support team out of a free code, considering I've received all 100% of mine without problem (out of dozens of pre-orders).

I already told my boss not to expect me at work the following Wednesday. I'm gonna devote a full day to playing the game... making my apparently multi-instrument-teleporting stand-ins, clearing road challenges, unlocking crap, trying out pro key trainers. Etc. It's gonna be sweet.

Assuming it arrives on Tuesday, that is. I'm kind of a pessimist when it comes to shipping. Bad experiences.

Thanks for the tip about the email, both you guys. I'll keep an eye out for it and will call them to carpet if it doesn't show up. Papa wants his Blue Monday. (And hopefully that'll pave the way for other guitar-laced electronica acts, like The Prodigy, or Pendulum, or...)
