Be cool for 10 more days then go nutty or if you can't stand it go to one of the other gaming forums and chat it up.
No one is monitoring your PM's or banning anyone for giving help where appropriate.
Just use common sense and if you think you are posting something you maybe should not, don't.
Hundreds have the game, I have the game but I am following the B rule here and on my own forum because I respect the wishes of the people at Harmonix.
Hope that helps.
And so the RB forums retain their logic of "if you aren't happy with something, it's your fault for being unhappy, and I should be able to do whatever I want, even if you don't like it, because it's your fault for not liking it, so you should change what makes you happy."
(Psst.. that's flawed logic, btw)
Well, I have the game since this morning; I can't see any stuff that could qualify as a full blown spoiler. except what goes down in the little band vignettes.
I've watched each and every one of the leaked videos available; and to be honest with you all; it just doesn't compare to the real thing running in your console; a lot of the solos caught me off guard; the only way you won't like the new interface, its nostalgia and an unhealthy attachment to RB2.
Everything is leaps and bounds above the previous games; even Beatles.
I come on these forums every day, and I haven't really had anything spoiled (even if RB3 was the type of game that could be spoiled). I haven't been intentionally avoiding it or anything, I've just been opening up threads I might find interesting. It's pretty easy to avoid without avoiding the forums altogether. If (you feel) there is misinformation because of people who got it early, then you're in the same boat you would be if everyone got it on release day, which is to say: in the dark about specifics until the game comes out and you get a hold of it. I understand jealousy, I'll be the first one to admit I'm jealous of the people who snagged an early copy, but it's not going to affect my experience in any way.
*RB3 scores (golds), Pro Drum
RB3 = 73/83 | RB2 = 68/79 | RB1 = 53/55 | DLC = 191/244
How on earth can someone spoil a game with no story? If you've heard the songs that are in it, that's about as spoiled as you can get. Without looking, just by hearing the songs, I can imagine the note charts for every instrument. Does that constitute spoiling it? No. The only thing that spoils it is playing it, and if you're playing it, it's not much of a spoiler.
Maybe I just view this differently, but aside from the content of the band vignettes (Some of which I've seen and wish I hadn't), this game seems pretty spoiler-proof. Unless, of course, you decided to avoid hearing the songs in it. But that would mean not listening to the radio for about the last fifty years.
When you turn it on, it's brand new.
Even the high definition ones can't capture the way the game feels when it is running in the console, on your TV. You are just being obnoxious; everything else that isn't the song list and the vignettes is just gameplay; and you can't spoil gameplay.
At the very core, it is still the same game mechanics, with a brand new engine that you can't describe with words anyways; the rest would be tips and strategy. The way I see it, this franchise could use some good word of mouth because RB3 is a damn FINE game if you don't start nitpicking.
The four avatar limit? HMX would do well in telling people there is a very obvious, technical reason as to why they couldn't put 5 people on screen. This could very well the most graphically demanding game this year, and I just got Castlevania Lords of Shadow, and that is one hell of a beautiful game; but this one is far more demanding on the poor console, if you can believe it.
There is a lot of love put into this game; it doesn't look manufactured, it's more like artesany and craftmanship if such thing is possible with data.
Bugs? I bet there are plenty. Any game breaking one? Haven't encountered one yet. I might look like a HMX apologist, but seriously, anybody complaining after launch abot anything is a nitpicker and I wish I could explain to you in detail, but you dont want to be spoiled so there you go.
