Old style PS3 300gig hard drive.
Playing rockband 3 anytime I go into the song selection screen and try to choose songs it completely freezes my system. I have to restart my ps3 manually. It does not matter what song I am on or whether it is a downloaded song or not. The game is completely unplayable. Rockband 2 works fine as do all other PS3 games so it must be the rockband 3 game itself. Same results offline or online. I even tried a different game disc. Sent email and have not received any response.
Once export time comes, they could at least re-genre and re-tier the songs exported from Rock Band 3.
To use the Glam genre again, I swear "Looks That Kill" and "Shout It Out Loud" were metal and classic rock respectively in GH5, but they appear in the Glam Rock genre in GH:WoR.
We've ended on a sour note:
Still...thank you for the music
Guitar suggestion rock band 3 controller.
I have waited for the newest controllers to be announced and nothing has been revealed or anticipated in forums.
I suggest that a new madcatz controller be frame only with model assembly kits to adapt onto the frame that could represent different models and brands of guitars. I also suggest that the kits be prizes won by forum pro guitar players for achievments.
It would be nice if an easily applied or removed spray foam could fill the gaps and firm up the project.
I'll change the names here the fake friends book and twittleberries don't have to record their game progress we do.
If you want to sell them then I'd suggest you do a better job than last year. Do you know that in every gamestop that I went to the mustang was always in it's packaging and top shelf unassembled?
How was it ever going to look like a guitar in such a small box? Zero promotion on the ground floor because the store you depended on was trying to sell shoot em up nukem fighting explosion games.
They could have assembled one and put the boxes for each system behind it showing what it was in the box.
Good luck I'm not tired of my red mustang guitar yet just looking towards the future.
Chord numbering and breakneck speed made me play better.
Individual instrument track volumes. I want to be able to turn the drum track all the way down while still hearing the other instruments when I have other players.
Well, requesting songs is nto allowed here, but I'd like to ask for people who chart songs for RBN or HMX themselves if it's possible to make more 2x Bass Pedal songs, and if possible, them to be avaliable for PS3 too. I own a PS3 and I'm dying to play Mariana's Trench 2x Bass but I can't, and probably a lot of more gamers too. I understand Xbox has a priority over this game and I respect it, but that doesn't mean we won't get thsoe songs with double bass charted, ever.
Playing RB3 almost everyday!
Instrument of choice: Pro Expert Drums + Double Bass.
Platform: PS3. European willing to play with ANYONE!
I've been a huge fan of the Rock Band franchise ever since the original release. Heck, I even went out and bought a PS3 for the sole purpose of playing Rock Band. And while I have enjoyed the franchise immensely, I seem to find myself scratching my head at some of the design choices and seemingly obvious oversights to the core gameplay.
First, let me say up front that I'm coming at this from an offline group type of play. We are a family of four, perfect for this game, and we don't play much online (the only time I play online is by myself). But we're just a step above casual players. We aren't hardcore, but we do like to keep track of our avatars and personal scores, as well as our band persona and career scores.
And this is where RB3, in my opinion, had the opportunity to shine but ultimately failed. There are two key areas where, from our perspective, RB3 has failed with regards to group play.
Finding Songs to Play
I know a set list is meant to serve as what a band performs at a live performance -- a "set". But with regards to Rock Band play, set lists really aren't useful for going to when playing in a group.
The fact that you can't use set lists as filters really hinders the game play. We have over 1,000 songs (from the 3 RB games to our DLC), and it's always a chore for us to pick songs to play -- and we often unintentionally end up playing many of the same songs over and over again. There are several ways this could have been achieved, none of which are possible currently:
- When pulling up a set list, allow "party play" and all other filters to apply on top of a set list
- Simply add set lists as a filter
- Add reviews (lighter rankings) as a filter
Again, I know that a set list was designed for a different purpose, so call it something else (playlist) then add this funtionality.
Keeping Track of Individual Scores
I come from a PS3 play, and this may not be an issue w/ XBox 360 players. But currently, there is no way for individuals (during group play) to keep track of their individual progress. This includes scores and unlockables. If my family play as a group, we either have to opt to not track our progress when joining, or all of our scores go into a giant pool of scores in which we have no idea where each other stands.
This could also be solved in a couple of ways:
- Allow in-game loading of multiple PSN profiles, where our individual progress is tracked.
- Tie individual scores to in-game characters (irrespective of network profiles)
These two issues, combined, are causing both frustration and a lack of interest. In fact, prior to about two weeks ago, we had Rock Band locked in the basement for about 8 months, following only about one month of play after the release of RB3, at which point we lost interest.
RB3 has several improvements over the previous two games, but these two issues continue to drag the fun down for us.
Please consider patching RB3 to address these issues. Or, at the very least, address them in the next game (though we may not still be around at that point).
Thanks for listening.
I'm not sure about the issue with individual scores... RB3 always tracks individual scores for folks who are signed in. You get a band score, and your own score goes towards your career goals and rankings etc... I'm on the xbox, but I assume this is the way it works across the board since it's the basis for the goals system.
