No score duel? I know I'm a little late to the party on this one... but where'd it go and WHY!?

All of my friends and I love local score duels with every instrument... nobody likes being stuck on bass for a song that's clearly about the guitar, or vice versa.

In fact, it's almost 2013 and we are still playing RB2 over RB3 just so we can duel. It's getting very annoying. Is there a chance this can be added in? Heck, I'd even PAY for it!

probably wont get added in, maybe in a future title.

as for the reason why, apparently hardly anyone played it

HMX's numbers had less than 5% of people playing it, and something like 1% playing it with any regularity. It's most likely a victim of the time crunch created by the Viacom sale, but it clearly wasn't a highly used feature, even if it happens to be your favorite feature.

Instead, you can use the leaderboard to war against friends, or you can use Blitz to compete challenge friends to score wars. Sure, it's not live head-to-head, but that doesn't make it any less fun (IMHO).

Not really fun when entertaining friends in your home .

Score War might also have been a victim of code space crunch, given all of the new features they added.

I find coop works much better for local friend in RB. Otherwise they wouldn't like losing to me constantly (I can practice much easier than they can)

I began to play RB2 on wii, I did this all the time, and almost always could find people to duel with.
I migrated to PS3, I could find people to duel with at any time. It was a good way to practice as when you play tug of war and you on expert, your opponent on easy, you gotta do very well to be able to defeat them. Good training, good stuff.

I really hate this mindset, as if every song is "Crazy Train" on guitar and "Imagine" on bass. Nearly all songs that have interesting guitar parts have interesting bass parts.

My biggest Wish for the next Rock Band title or even better for an update would be different audio/video calibrations for different instruments. My RB1 drums and RB3 Telecaster have a different lag. Similarly with RB1 drums and GH:WOR guitar. Can't really play drums and guitar simultaneously without someone missing a lot of notes in spite of actually hitting them on time.

Excuse me if it has been mentioned before, but I couldn't check 400 something pages and it is absolutely worth mentioning.

I have to side with mikeyts here.

You can always flip the guitar lefty/righty for a fair handicap.

I think this could be accomplished with setting offsets. If it's calibrated correctly on one instrument, the audio and video are in sync and only the timing window is off. Have a few offsets you can save, and have it pop up the offset menu when you drop an instrument in.
We've ended on a sour note:

    Still...thank you for the music

This would not work with local multiplayer. Having independent offset values for all instruments would work best.
