Not sure about that, the "White Wedding" effect came up for All Star for me a couple of times. It's more likely a collection of specialized effects and filters that are applied randomly in quickplay or called explicitly in the case of specific Tour Events.

Both songs take place in the Boring White Room video. In fact "All Star" has the most noticeably different camera angles: in the video it just takes a random angle and stays there for the entire song, but in all the other venues the angle changes like any other song.

EDIT: I somehow misread the post, but my post is still mostly relevant. Here's a list of songs that can be played in RB2 video shoots. Each song can only be played in that video, and setlists can only be played there if all the songs in it have the same video.

Well that's nice and all, but it doesn't really change that when the music video event pops up it just overrides the regular venue display with whatever adjective you want to use to describe the new conglomeration of effects and specialized venue.

If you want to call it "white room" video instead of "white wedding" fine, but teh point is that effect can be used for any song, it' snot something hard coded in the sense that the authors have to put it in through some laborious process; the game can override the authored effects and venue with one of these video venues. I also get the "Spoonman video effect" during Gaga songs. It's a game functionality pulled off with dubious success this time around, but still a good idea when done well, as exhibited, previously and worth salvaging no matter how obnoxious it is now.

After looking at your edit, there may be a flag to allow a song to be played in the video venue, but not much more than that on the authoring side. Like i said they're just specialized environments in game.

Why would they only allow each song to be in one video shoot? If it's just a simple matter of choosing a video, why couldn't they do that with 60 of the disc songs and the majority of DLC and LEGO tracks? Why does "All Star" look messed up in the video shoot but not in any of the other venues?

A bug with the directed cuts for the latter. As for the former it's probably an aesthetic choice as Painkiller would look pretty stupid using the Everlong Video effects; so they pick and choose what songs can play in what video scenario. Why is this important again?

I liked the white room, dressed my avatars up for it once. It looked pretty cool, at least there's a solid ground

And yeah, the Allstar glitch can be amusing, or terribly bad.

I like the Film Student one with We Got the Beat. It's all trippy and ...Go-Go...ey. That's a word really. Anyway, moral of the story, not a fan of the "winamp visualizer" approach but like the idea of video venues, especially done well!

Still wouldn't look as stupid as Painkiller with the Flying Guitars Cheese-Scape or Over-The-Top Psychedelia ft. Glowing Tiger Outlines backgrounds featured in RB3.

Solid ground, that reminds me: Guitar Hero's Hypersphere was a lot like the video shoot, except it had solid ground. In Warriors of Rock, it took you to Stonehenge and to some weird temple-like place - this would be more fitting of a hard rock or metal song - I don't know, maybe Stonehenge by Spinal Tap?

Floating in front of the background with no floor only works for psychedelic stuff - the RB2 psychedelic, Everlong, and RB3 "lava lamp" videos.

As for the "Winamp visualizer" part, Guitar Hero gets it right with the Wormhole - no band in front of it to make it look like a half-assed no-budget green-screen project.
We've ended on a sour note:

    Still...thank you for the music
