    How?

It's actually less ego-stroking. The current notation implies "you're in the top!"
It doesn't 'imply' anything. For the...third? time, EVERYTHING you're suggesting about the leaderboards is just mirroring what they already do. There's no 'implications' going on, it's being accurate and blunt.

It already knows which instruments were played. It would hide scores that weren't recorded on the instrument combination. Sure, it'd be pretty slow, but a lot of the work should be done on the system's end for this.

How would displaying both rank and percentile make the non-direct ranking superfluous?

I actually see his point. If I crash and burn, hearing that I'm in the top 79% seems a bit sarcastic, since I'm in the bottom 32%. If you're below the top 50%, it should say that you're in the bottom XX%

Either way it doesn't bother me, but I can see his point.

A situation where you would get "Top >50%", and don't have to be playing badly - band leaderboards, but you are playing basic keys alone. Though at that point, it's kinda my fault for playing basic keys alone.

This is why I came to the percentile thing - no need to flip-flop between top X% and bottom X%.

Again, for songs with less than 100 scores, you'd get "Xth place out of Y", and for those with 100 or more, you'd get "Xth place, Zth percentile".

On the contrary, I as a completionist would love to see how many other completionists there are out there.

As for the leaderboards, there should be both "collapsed" and "expanded" views. Collapsed will be pretty much the same thing as what RB3 does now, but the top percent will also be collapsed to only first place and 99th percentile, and the ranks of you and your friends will be shown.

    1. Somebody else 268,498
    99th percentile 267,437
    98th percentile 261,397
    127. Your friend 258,950
    97th percentile 253,894
    ...
    90th percentile 195,147
    523. You 193,158
    89th percentile 189,214
    ...

Pressing yellow will expand the percentile you clicked on.

    Character Design:

Please make the eyebrows slightly lower to the face, perhaps more rounded on the corners. As they currently are they are very shelf like, and look more like jagged square caterpillars instead of an eyebrow on the face. Got some nice still pictures of my characters over the last year and that stands out. I got them interjected with my screen saver stuff so I see it often.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/2366266...57626818651150 : The lighting is very nice but it does a good job in showing much could be stored on top of those eyebrows (and the plastic hair gets highlighted).

^Good point. In GH:WoR, the eyebrows were much thinner and more realistic. The men's "Highbrow" is so short that it looks like a Hitler mustache for each eye, while some of the other brows options are long enough that when they are closest together, you get a unibrow. Meanwhile, GH offers a dedicated unibrow for the few people who would want one, and then makes sure the other eyebrows are the correct distance and shape.

    Custom Setlists:
When making our own setlists, it's be great to integrate it into the "Filters", so that way we can select which of the songs to play without binding what order we play the songs in.

For instance- When scrolling through the songs menu, instead of scrolling through 600+ songs, we have the option to open the sorting and filters menu. Build a filter titled 'setlist', then you get to filter out the songs that are not in the setlist. (Say that I built a setlist consisting of Say It Ain't So, In Bloom, and I Think I'm Paranoid. Those would be the only songs to appear in the library due to the filter)

For top x percent vs actual number placement discussion, I personally prefer when the game tells me the actual number I am placed on the leaderboards. I am already aware of how popular a song is on the leaderboards as far as how many people have played, so I don't feel like I get anything out of percentage.

It actually bothers me the most for songs that have a large number of players, like the on disc songs. If RB3 says I'm in the top 2%, there could still be several hundred people ranked above me. So percentage almost feels like it's trying to make your ranking sound better than it actually is.
