There's several hundred people ahead of you, but also several thousand people behind. I'm in 103rd place for "Roll the Dice" by Damone on vocals, so going by the numbers would make it look like I'm better at that than "Crazy Train", in which I fall just short of the top 12,000. Showing 15% and 85% on those songs tells a different story.

Meanwhile, GH offers a dedicated unibrow for the few people who would want one, and then makes sure the other eyebrows are the correct distance and shape.
A better variety of natural shapes would be great, and if they can get them thinner on the face (height first and foremost) that'd be good. When I did character creation, all my characters except three ended up with the same set of eyebrows since nothing else appealed. That's out of 16 characters I think. Some of the shapes are a tad weird. I like cartoony expression and all, just not paste on eyebrows or sideburns. Those also got a spirit-gummed to the face look. Not really attached to the character in a sensible way.

The profile-band and ten character limit were lousy ideas, so they should be ditched anyway.

With a multiple bands per profile system, we should be able to select which bands report their performances. In addition, performances would be reported on in more detail, and focus on the band stars. It would look like this:

"TheHundredDollarHeadache's band, Pizza for Masochists, got ***** playing "Waterloo" by ABBA!
(this is where a [more] button would go, and it would expand to show the following)
TheHundredDollarHeadache got *** on Medium Harmonies!
TheHundredDollarHeadache got ***** on Expert Pro Guitar!
skyp1e got ***** on Expert Pro Keys!
A guest got **** on Hard Bass!
A guest got ***** on Hard Pro Drums!
    [less]"

skyp1e's name would be a link to his profile, where it would show:

"skyp1e got ***** playing "Waterloo" by ABBA on Expert Pro Keys with TheHundredDollarHeadache!"

My name would link back to my profile.

Meanwhile, my touring band, The Wedgie Deluxe, won't report its scores.

This is also assuming the "tie vocals to an instrument" solution to the 5-member band (4 instruments + vocals) problem gets implemented. They would only be on separate profiles if they are on separate consoles. I can't sing and play worth crap (and my guests will most likely be pretty average players struggling to sing and play at the same time) so that's why I gave myself 3 stars on Medium in this example (I mumbled through while I focused on playing my part).

You know the hero feed thing? That.

Nice to know which songs friends have beat me on without scrolling through a thousand and waiting for the leaderboard on each song.

    So, "Hide 1-lighter songs".

All sorts should be available as filters. All filters should be available as sorts.

Why would you need to sort by whether or not a song has a keyboard part or filter only songs that begin with the letter Q?

The answer to this is two-fold.

The first part is a refutation of the question itself: It doesn't matter why. The game has filtering capabilities. The game has sorting capabilities. The songs have data on which to filter and sort. Just make it all filterable/sortable! Don't tell me I have no reason to want to do something *coughApplecough*, just let me do it.

Now don't get me wrong, most of the time this argument doesn't work in favor of a feature, because adding it is hard. E.g., "don't limit me to three cymbals!" has multiple display, software, data, and hardware issues to overcome (just as a really contrived and impossible example). But in this case it's easy! All the data is there, the engine capability is there... why the limitations?

The second part is to actually answer your question: "When I'm looking for a specific song but only know certain characteristics" answers a lot of these types of questions. Filters make it easy to automatically drop characteristics I know are wrong, and sorts make it easy to group the songs to make flipping through them less painful.

The better examples, though, are when I'd like to look at only 4- and 5-lighter songs and sort on something else, or when I'd like to sort on genre at all.

^ I would further split sorting into "primary" (how it groups songs and arranges the headers) and "secondary" (how the songs are ordered within their groups).

Another reason of why I want both percentile and numeric rank always is because of the leaderboard rank sort. Let's ditch the "Ranked" category (it is ambiguous because it encompasses both top percent and songs with relatively few scores), and add "99th Percentile" and "1st Percentile" categories instead.

Difficulty sorting is screwy on Pro Guitar/Bass (some DLC finds itself under the Warmup tier header even though it clearly has dots for difficulty), but star sorting in RB3 uses difficulty as the secondary sort, and they show up in proper order there.

While I'm at it, who actually warms up for a long play session with a Warmup tier song? I just jump in, as I would imagine many others do. I'd call it the Beginner tier like the Beatles game did.
