Hi, I hope someone can help, or at least provide an explanation regarding this occurence.

I have noticed a problem recently when playing RB3 on xbox live. I can see it happening clearly whilst playing both guitar and bass. I am playing along quite happily. I can see I have hit the last note but then I lose my multipler. it has happened many times over the last week or so.

I was wondering what was happening and so mentioned it to a friend who said that he had noticed it also and had spoken to other friends who had mentioned the same problem.

Has anyone else noticed this, I would be grateful for any information.

    Thanks
    Penelope

Your instrument is faulty. Use a new one.

yup your instrument probably registers a note twice.
easiest is just to buy a new guitar.

till you find a new one you could just use upstrums only

    Thanks for responding.

Regarding my instrument, I have 3 guitars and have experienced this using all 3. I am an experenced player and would know if that was the cause. It also does not explain why other people I know are experiencing the same problem. Further it does not happen when I am playing by myself. Only when playing in a band.

Thanks but that's not the issue.

I've been experiencing the EXACT same problem. When I play offline in solo game play no notes are dropped after registering as struck. However, on XBL in game play with others I have noticed many dropped notes AFTER registering as struck.

For those that think it's "faulty equipment": I have 11 guitars in perfectly maintained condition including upgraded strum switches in most of them. The problem that I have experienced is the same one that Penelope has described and definitely NOT an equipment issue.

Then it's just misfires due to a crappy internet connection.

You have NO CLUE WHATSOEVER about my internet connection which is T-1 and we'll leave it at that. It's not a connection issue, not an equipment issue, not a settings or AV system issue so let's just get all of that out of the way.

Now, anyone that may have a REAL solution I would love to hear from.

You're right, since it only happens online, it's clearly NOT your connection. That would be a silly thing.

I do not have connection problems. This has only been happening in the last week or so but it is being noticed on both sides of the atlantic.

Sorry but again that is not the issue here.

Yes, it is. Somewhere along the chain, there is a connection problem. Don't try saying it's 'not' the issue like you know what the issue is. The reason you asked is because you don't.

If multiple instruments, multiple people, and multiple locations all play fine offline, but when going online, things go wrong, it's the connection. Literally the only thing it can be. Song count? People have had more songs than you before now. Patch? Hasn't been one for months, no reported issues with it if you're just getting to it now. Game? Same one you've been playing. People involved? Probably the same ones you've been with.
