Your solution didn't work for me as described but it did clue me in the right direction. Eventually I wound up booting the Xbox with only one memory unit, empty except for my profile. Used the download history to redownload the Lego export license. Started LRB, bypassing the prompts for game saves. Select music store (forced to create a cache file) then selected Export license. It finally worked after nearly a month of headaches. I just wanted to play Vampire Weekend with my keytar. Finally that goal is within sight.
I'm still appalled at the difficulties I experienced. If Harmonix isn't going to correct these problems, I am at least glad they have a forum where knowledgeable customers can pick up the slack. Thanks for the help, hkevin.
I have been working with legorockband via email and they have been supportive, having said that, I did everything they told me in the email, got my token, and when I insert the Lego Rock Band game I get an error message saying: There is a problem with XBOX LIVE Marketplace, Please try again later.

So the issues are still not fixed and this has been going on for two months from what I can tell from all the previous posts. It amazes me some people had no problems. I am running the new XBOX 360 with the 250GB Hard Drive. I am not going to delete anything unless told to do so by legorockband. Just wanted you to know the issue is still there.

I bought lego rockband to export the songs to RB3 and i was getting an error code for trying to dl the export liscense and the code was 800700e8 and the following steps helped me and now i'm able to export it and then play it on RB3!!!!! Super excited and totally jamming out to some Ghostbusters are Word UP!

Also please be aware that this may not be the solution for everyone, but after many different tries this is what finally worked for me.
1. Get the code for Lego Rock Band and enter it in Redeem code and download license key (Lego Rock Band Export Pack) 108k
2. Go to Memory/HD/Games/Rock Band/ Rock Band Export License (Original Rock Band, NOT EVERYONE WILL HAVE IT, BUT THIS SEEMED TO MAKE THE DIFFERENCE FOR ME) Delete it.
3. Go to Memory/HD/Games/Rock Band/Lego Rock Band Export Pack and delete it.
4. Go to Memory/HD/System Files/Delete Xbox Marketplace Data and Rights DB.
5. Go back to Memory and right before you enter the Hard Drive hit Y and select Delete System Cache.
6. Back out and Power off your Xbox 360 and wait about 30 seconds to turn it back on.
7. Power Xbox 360 back on and make sure you are logged onto Xbox Live.
8. On the Tab where it shows your Avatar go to My Account/Purchase History.
9. Scroll Down until you find Rock Band Export License and redownload it.
10. NOW Launch Lego Rock Band Game (Free Play and make sure that I could see and play Rock Band 1 songs which might have reauthorized the console, I could)
11. Go out to the Dashboard and Redownload the Lego Rock Band Export Pack from Purchase History
12. Launch Lego Rock Band, got to the Store and go down to Export and you should now be able to Purchase the pack. (Make sure you have the 800 Points of course)
Seems Long and convoluted but I wasn't able to do anything since Tuesday and after many tries this is what worked for me, hope it helps you too.

Oh and if you have a key that doesn't work and is already used... might want to call harmonix/lego and see what you can do or just return it and find another copy! Have fun and good luck
whoa, this is still a problem? i bought lrb today, and it just says error on page everytime . . .
wouldnt let me get the token from my comp. but thru my iphone, no problem . . .
I typed in the code from the sheet in the box at rockband.com/lego-export/ and chose the xbox360 version and when the next page loaded up it stated YOUR EXPORT TOKEN (in block capitals) but there was no code to be seen. I've had LEGO Rock Band since launch (bought it brand new and sealed) and decided to finally export to RB3 but it is not seemingly possible as I then tried to type the code in again only to find that it had been redeemed (WHICH IT HASN'T). I need an xbox live download code but can't even get to that step.
Frustrated would be an understatement...
I bought a brand new copy of this game. The code is too long through the guide screen, and nothing happens at all on the website. Whats the big problem with this? Are we ever gonna get any help here? The whole reason I purchased this game was to export to Rock Band 3. What a waste of money...
