    Repetitiveness?

Lets pretend for a moment that I am running a double elimination tourney with around 100 songs to choose from. Best 2/3 wins the match and each band gets to choose one song, with the 3rd being random.

How do I combat song repetitiveness?

My thoughts are to break the songs into 3 tiers, having the the next one "unlock" as each round progresses. I would also lock down songs for bands once they've played them for two consecutive rounds to prevent them from being a 2-3 song show. I'm also toying with the idea of eliminating a song once it has been played, or at least locking it out of the current tier.

I am open to suggestions and would appreciate any help!

I feel like the easiest way to do it is just keep track of what song has been played, and just tell people not to play the same song twice.

If you want to be more subtle about it, arrange it so each round is a different difficulty tier, increasing (or decreasing) after each round. That way, each round has a different set of songs available. You can also arrange it by location, but for such a small pool of songs it's probably better to stick with difficulty.

    Hello There!
I'm setting up a Rock Band tourney at a high school, via the public library.
I'd love to get nifty spreadsheet to rocknroll the scores to heaven.
    Thanks in advance!

Or if anybody else from this thread can share the love, I'd be much obliged to get a version of somebody's score calculating spreadsheet!

    Thanks a bunch,
