Sabrosa Purr are a genre-defying band from Los Angeles, California, composed of Will Love, Jeff Mendel, Angie Mattson and Mahsa Zargaran. They released their self-produced début EP, Music from the Violet Room on Dangerbird Records (Silversun Pickups, Sea Wolf, Hot Hot Heat, Minus The Bear) to critical raves in 2006, finding themselves in the Top Ten Albums of many tastemakers’ lists, including that of Bagel Radio, CMJ’s Speciality Music Director of the Year. The follow-up Volaras EP was released on June 26 2009. Their full-length album, To the Crickets and the Ghosts, is scheduled for release in fall 2010; it was produced by Tracy Chisholm (Stone Temple Pilots, Belly, Scott Weiland, Devics).

The line-up consists of Will Love (vocals/guitar), Jeff Mendel (lead guitar), Angie Mattson (bass guitar) and Mahsa Zargaran (drums). They have performed successful residencies in some of LA's most notable venues, including Spaceland. The Purr have shared the stage with other LA notables, Burning Brides, Silversun Pickups, Cold War Kids, Devics, Pedestrian, Cheem, Far, and The Revolution Smile, and served as an opening act for 30 Seconds to Mars on their tour supporting "A Beautiful Lie".

I am happy to hear about Sonata but I don't accept the too long excuse. Songs came out in July that had pro drums!

    SPOTLIGHT
(Damn) This Desert Air (www.myspace.com/damnthisdesertair): Alternative rockers from Wayne, NJ, creating a buzz within the Rock Band Network community. The group describes its sound as alternative rock with a hint of the maturity of prog rock combined with the angst of punk rock. I’d say it’s a combination of Chevelle and Taproot. Their track “Ghost I Own” is available for Rock Band and has been downloaded 287 times already in just over a month. They’ll be on an upcoming HUM tribute CD as well. Pay close attention to these guys as they continue to grow and develop their sound. Tracks to check out on their MySpace page: “Ghost I Own” and “Calling Orion

    Kittie -- The Truth

"We wanted this to be a behemoth of an album, a real beast," says Kittie front woman Morgan Lander of In The Black, the fifth studio album of her band's decade-long career as metal's reigning femme fatales. The band delivered true on their promise, creating a 12-track behemoth of unapologetic metal splendor, forging bone-crushing music and penetrating vocals into a snarling beast of blunt force trauma. And better yet, they did it without any drama.

Tara McLeod, Kittie's acclaimed guitarist returns with a prodigious second studio effort. "Tara comes from a different school of music, she's more influenced by blues and jazz, and as we evolve as a band we definitely play off of each other," Morgan says of her fellow guitarist. "They complement each other really well," adds Mercedes, the band's drummer, "and it was really nice to have someone be able to come to practice with a solo for a song or a cool riff. It was nice to have a third party offering suggestions." Also familiar to fans is bassist Ivy Vujic, who has been in the band for two years, making this the most dynamic and engaging lineup in Kittie's history. And their chemistry shows!

With total domestic sales in excess of 1.25 million, Kittie also approached the recording of In the Black as complete free agents, for their first time ever, writing and recording a record with absolutely no outside influences breathing down their necks. The results will make your skin crawl and the hair on the back of your neck stand at attention

Sonata Arctica-- Flag in the Ground
    http://www.sonataarctica.info/site07/index.php?s=3&l=uk

Sonata Arctica was born in 1996 on the edge of the world, in the northern Finnish town of Kemi. The very first incarnation of the band was named Tricky Beans. As Tricky Beans, the group produced three demos (Friend till the End, Agre Pamppers and PeaceMaker) and played twice in Jyrki Sähkösirkus, a live tour version of a then famous TV pop show.

With four gold disc awards and multiple sold-out tours Sonata Arctica has got its hands tightly attached to the history of Finnish metal music - and more will definately be achieved in the future!
