AAF is not a one hit wonder. "Movies" and "These Days" were popular songs also.

Just because a song was a single and was somewhat popular doesn't mean it's a hit. This is what irks me when people yammer on about band x(a-ha in the U.S. for example) having other "hits". A single does not in any way equal a hit. And of course a band can be a one hit wonder in one country and not in another.
I think movies was a borderline "hit", but really they are just about a one hit wonder. Close call either way.
And I'm hoping this doesn't come off as personal towards you tony. You're a great poster, but it's just not correct when people say this.

Do people remember the band at all? Their last album was in 2006, and it had no single, no tour, and virtually no airplay.

That's why they're an one hit wonder.
Generally, a hit is anything that makes it into the top 40. Whether that changes depending on the chart, I dunno, but there's a difference between popular songs and hits.
Stairway to Heaven wasn't a hit, it was never even a single.
Jimi Hendrix only had what, one or two songs that made it into the Top 40? Yet he's got far more memorable songs NOW.

Well for one charts aren't the be all end all of what determines what's a hit.
Also, the modern rock chart is VERY different from the top 40 chart. If it makes the top 40 chart it usually becomes a hit. It could top a genre chart and never be a hit.
Back in the day a lot of stuff wasn't released as singles but was still played on the radio and could become a hit that way without ever charting. Nowadays it is extremely rare something gets played without being released as a single.
