What if discussion of the beatles. ex, what if the beatles got back together.
Would the Beatles still be the number 1 band if they played in the 70's
I would say Yes. If they played live again yes if they didn't i don't know. Still say yes.

If The Beatles stayed together, there's no way they could have kept the magic going forever. They would eventually just end up like another Rolling Stones or The Who. A great band, but one that's lost a lot of what's made it great over time.
For fans who never saw them sure if they stayed together and without John's Death in 1980 you could see them which would be great but yes they couldn't have kept the magic going forever. They got out at the right time. The magic they left behind made them the greatest band of all time. The Beatles Rock Band Ending Movie says it all.

It pisses me off how many millions and millions of Beatles fans there are in the world and the reason they never did a reunion is because of one dick hole. They would have definitely had a reunion eventually (80s or 90s).
Santa Claustrophobia: Be careful what you ***** for, you just might get it.
If they stayed together they probably would have still broken up. That being said even if they did two or three more albums they would be just as good as any other Beatles's album.

Honestly, I think they may have devolved into irrelevance the same way The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, and The Who did, so it's probably for the best that they broke up when they did. I do, however, wish they'd managed one more album, released in 1970.
We can't really say for sure that they would decline in popularity. They all wrote many amazing solo songs, and in the case of Lennon and McCartney, because they worked together for most of their Beatles's material, that they would help each other writing their songs that would've been their solo work, but because of their great music partnership those songs could of turned out even better then we know them today.
