Why does everyone assume activision will be buying? I actually see this as very unlikely...

There are soooooo many people in this thread who really just need to stop posting. You have NO IDEA what you're talking about when it comes to the financial side of things. Stick to talking about the actual games. Please.

Am I right in thinking that whoever buys Harmonix pretty much has the right to hire and fire who they wish on the team. Like the way Activision basically ruined Infinity Ward (most of them formed Respawn Studios I believe)

Well, here's hoping Harmonix is bought by music lovers, I'd be extremely sad to see the series go anywhere but up. I've even convinced a few people I know to buy RB3 and the keyboard (if anyone can find it in Ireland, not a poke at HMX, just a fact)

Okay, tell me that not one of you doom and gloomers panicked when the site went down and thought that Harmonix was shut down and the employees were being escorted out.

I know some of you had that thought :-)

While I was really annoyed with the lack of Stage Kit support, I didn't want to see this happen.

Everyone here seem to be worried about RB and the DLC, I just want to say that I wish employees at Harmonix and their families the best. I don't like seeing people loose their jobs, so I hope it doesn't come to that

It might have been a possibility, had the article not clearly stated that Viacom was going to continue fully supporting the studio until the buyer was found.

Microsoft will purchase Harmonix, and then we can all blame Sony for not trying hard enough

I'm sorry, is that okay? You sure? Ha, alright. Okay. Sorry though
