I think the strangest thing I've run into with trying to get a song is the artist saying "We licensed that song to Harmonix in 2008. It's never been released but since I signed with them I don't think I can sign with you."

One on hand, I'm excited the song might still be coming. On the other hand, it's been over 2 years.

I wonder if you could ask Harmonix about it. Or you could always try to get a different song from that artist?

No hints. I shouldn't have mentioned it in the first place. If it ever gets released or I get it somehow, I'll let you all know.

Got that too, but I had my expectations dashed when he said the deal fell through with Universal

EDIT: You might want to contact HMX and see what's up. They'd be happy to help if it prevented another fiasco like Underoath on the RBN

Might be a dumb question, but how and who would I contact? Seems like it would be a tough thing to talk about. If there was an email where someone could just say "Hey I emailed _____ and they said they signed that song to you and was wondering if you were still going to release it?" Someone could just make stuff up and hope for a good response.

They won't reveal the band. I've also ran into at least three different bands that have said they already have music licensed to HMX, but it has yet to come out yet. So I'm pretty sure the wait list is fairly large to get your music in as DLC.

Feels quite surreal that some songs would have to wait years to be released. Whatever the songs are, hope they get out eventually.
