It hasn't grown stale for me yet; though I'm only level 13 right now, so time will tell. I think I just like that it's an FPS with RPG elements. After a while turn-based combat gets to be a bit boring and I need a break from it.

    Yeah, I said it.

(and those rat things are definitely annoying, but not as annoying as the birds. Oh how I hate shooting at birds in these games. >.> )

I've been playing a lot of Doodlejump lately on the iPod. Such a well done game.

Also loaded up Dragon Age II last night to get the latest patch and actually get my achievements for the Exiled Prince DLC, which never actually took effect for me. Thankfully, I kept saves right before earning each of them.

Did some online racing and I also went into single player to get some medals. In the Expert level races and ring master events, it seems more likely for a rogue wave to complete screw you up.

Went through Portal 2 single-player, breezed through it in less than a day. Awesome writing, which I was expecting. Substantially larger game, which I wasn't. (SPOILER-ish) The lack of sexy GLaDOS voice was disappointing but no big deal.

Maybe when PSN gets up I'll go through the co-op.

Okay, I’m giving up on Borderlands. It’s too damn repetitive. Here’s a typical mission.

    1. Kill the skag (Some generic, rat thing.)

    2. Kill the slightly bigger skag.

    3. Kill the big skag.

    4. Kill the really big skag.

    5. Kill the really big, angry skag.

    6. Find some missing part then go back to step one.

Seriously, there’s only three types of enemies (Skags, bird things, and bandits) for the first quarter of the game. How lazy is that? Does the game get more interesting and are things varied later on? Who cares. I’m giving up and moving on.

Yeah, I found Borderlands alright when I played it for a weekend at my cousin's house, but I had a hunch that it would run out its welcome after much more than a weekend.

I bought Borderlands for the multiplayer and found that A) I had to use a Gamespy account, of all things, to do so B) by the time I got it sorted out, my friends were on all different levels and just left me in the dust (they're telling me now that if I buy the DLC, we can do that together - I'm a little reluctant to plop an additional $30 when I've barely justified the $50 I spent in the first place).

Except for one friend, who played it for the single player campaign. He finished the game grossly unsatisfied.

I haven't gotten to try the multi yet, with the PSN being down. But I think I'm going to trade it in anyway for L.A. Noire.

Not a bad idea. L.A. Noire looks really good.
