Pretty simple - television sets have their own brightness settings. So sure, make it nearly impossible to even see anything on the in-game settings, then max out brightness and contrast on the TV set.

Since it's just a passing idea, I would hope if people tried bumping up the brightness on their TV, it wouldn't really help. Doing that would just make the screen whiter, not necessarily more clear.

Darkness is only one of the factors that make a good horror game scary. Dead Space was pretty dark and on a scale from bunnies to Silent Hill 2 in terms of scariness, it would give the bunnies a run for their money.

True, but when I came up with the idea, I just wanted it to have something original. A difficulty/reward system based on the game's brightness was something I'd never seen or heard of before.

Here's something very interesting the designer of Amnesia : The Dark Descent wrote about designing horror games http://gamasutra.com/view/news/16947..._to_evolve.php
It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.

Guess it's more than 'a few' that I didn't recognize
You're correct on the Original XBox controller. The XBox logo was huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge. Between that and the Gamecube is a Sega Saturn controller. Others mentioned the Dreamcast controller in the lower right of the palm.

The base of the thumb is the 3-button Sega Genesis controller.

Edit: Actually, top of the ring finger is a Sega Master System controller. Knew I recognized it, just couldn't place it. x.x

Edit 2: Annnd, my buddy found that last one. A Neo Geo pad.

Edited your quote for the final tally.
