    I've been watching a let's play on youtube for about the first 30 minutes of the game, and although it looks nice, to me it just looks like there are way too many pop-ups in your screen telling you what to do, QTE's etc.

    in such a linear game those really aren't necessary, and for me really pull me out of the game. Worst part being that for example you get a pop-up saying "FIND SURVIVORS!" and then 2 seconds later Lara says "I should look for other survivors".
    are casual players really that dumb/ not paying attention that they need that pop-up? I can kinda understand it in an open world game, but this is just meh. I'm actually thinking of not buying the game just because of that

    The QTE's are kinda annoying (and oftentimes pointless, like QTE's in most games), but become less frequent as the game progresses.
    If you do check it out, definitely start out on the hard difficulty. Ammo's still too easy to come across, so I handicap myself by only using the bow 99% of the time (it's the most satisfying weapon anyhow, so no worries).

    My wife watched me play for a bit and mentioned that it reminded her of a cross between Assassin's Creed and Gears of War, and I think this is quite a bit more fun than either of those, though the story will probably turn some folks off (I don't care, just wanna put arrows in faces).

    That is the tutorials. I watched a later part of the game that has some of the same stuff that the beginning does and the prompts arent there.

    Been playing Half-Life 2 on Steam lately. I'm about to enter Nova Prospekt.

    It was really annoying though, because on the one part in Sandtraps when you're fighting the Combine Gunship from the top of the light house, the rocket would follow the gunship around the lighthouse for a good five minutes before actually hitting or getting shot down. So it ended up taking about half an hour to do something that normall only takes a minute to do...

    Regardless, the game is fun as all get out when you're able to play it. Much different than its predecessors, but seems to be a good challenge to get a thriving region going.

    Also, the Glass Box simulation is a marvel of current game engineering and technology. It is so incredibly cool to see specific data on everything your city offers, and really makes your city feel more alive than in previous SCs.

    Other than that, it's been FIFA 13 and Guild Wars 2 for me. I'll probably pick up Tomb Raider when the price drops to $20 around Christmas.

    I've been playing XCOM E U and it's very addictive. I also love the difficulty.
    It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.

    After finishing Assassin's Creed 3, I decided to play the first game in the series. Since I gave my copy to my brother out of state a while ago, I decided to check out the downloadable version. It was either on sale or they dropped the price to ten bucks. Needless to say, downloaded it and have been enjoying it again. An instant classic in my opinion.

    Dang, that looks sweet, though I only played the first AoE.

    Now if only someone could make a Command & Conquer: Red Alert HD, I'd be really stoked.
