I didn't get very far in Kingdoms of Amalur before I decided I didn't like it. Sure the combat was awesome, but it seemed like the story wouldn't be able to back it up. So I trusted my gut and picked up some other games instead: Dragon's Dogma, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, and Killzone 2.

I had played the Dragon's Dogma demo and felt a disconnect with the controls. Picking up the retail version was a completely different experience for me for some reason.. really enjoyed it. I'll be returning it since I got it used and will then buy the new Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen when that comes out next tuesday. That way I'll get those special bonuses for people who have a DD save file already and enjoy all the additional content as well.

I'm not too big on Ratchet and Clank~ was always a Jak and Daxter kind of guy, but I can't deny that these games are lots of fun. Only just started Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and I'm already having a blast of platforming awesomeness, which is something the PS3 doesn't have a lot of really.

Killzone 2, on the other hand, I'm not sure of yet. Don't think I'm in the mood for a shooter right now so I might just hold off on it.

The main story of Amalur is so-so, but most of the faction stuff is quite good, especially anything to do with the Fae (or the thieves).

I'm with you on not digging the Dragon's Dogma demo at all, though. I'll give it a try if it ever comes out for Plus, but otherwise I'm not inclined to pick it up.

    Dead Island: Riptide

The literally almost completely unchanged sequel to Dead Island, cosmetically and graphically identical as well as the gameplay staying exactly the same. Some bugs were fixed, they added a few things (like boats, drowner zombies, etc.) you can import your character from the first game with all your experience carrying over which is cool. The game also even further emphasizes you to play multiplayer as the zombies are much harder to deal with and there are a lot more of them walking around, at least they give you the AI characters to help you out a little bit in some parts if you play solo except you fail the quest if one of them dies which is annoying as the AI is friggin' stupid most of the time and deserves to die.

There's one quest at the end of Chapter 1 or the beginning of Chapter 2 where you have to defend your camp from 3 waves of zombies. The game throws about 5 thugs, 5 of those water ones, like 3 butchers, and about 100 regular zombies at you and then a final boss who has about 1 million health points all the while making sure nobody from your group dies. Needless to say I died A LOT and failed about 3 times before I finally managed to get through it.

Long story short, if it ain't broke don't fix it is this games motto. If you enjoyed the first one, you'll like this one and vice versa.

I decided to spend the ridiculous amount of money for a complete used copy of Xenoblade Chronicles on Ebay (close to $150)~ I'm about 5 hours in and I really wish I had gotten it when it first came out. The game is absolutely amazing. Definitely worth the price of admission if you can manage to find/afford it. I'm playing with a classic controller and I have no problems with the controls. Gameplay is fun and addicting, music is especially fantastic, and while the graphics may not be the best compared to Xbox 360/PS3 titles, its looks really good for a Wii game.

Also decided to get Muramasa: The Demon Blade (which so far seems pretty cool.. loving the art style in that one) and just won The Last Story from Ebay for like $15 each.

My wife bought Injustice, but I've played it way more than her.

I'm a pretty big MK fan, but didn't have much interest in this (not into comics and MK vs DC was mediocre). I was dumb, 'cuz it's great. I almost want to pay for Live for a month or three to see how the online competition is looking.

On my third play through of Bioshock Infinite. Great game. Surprised the heck out of me too.

    Gears of war Judgment.

... Jesus... I genuinely didn't think I'd be disappointed by a GoW game any time soon. I'm not a fan of the control scheme change (I spent my first half an hour online throwing grenades at my teammates), the move to CoD the multiplayer and the shocking lack of content outside of DLC...

Not cool, Epic... Not cool. 6/10
